A quick update about the waiting list, if anyone actually still uses facebook...👀

We've just finished bringing people in from the end of 2023.

We're now starting to contact people from January & February 2024.

We have 275 on the list but as you can imagine, lots of people will have moved on, moved away etc.

Therefore, we hope to get to you soon, and we're extremely grateful for your patience.

Best wishes. 🥋

'We couldn’t wait until Christmas Day to give the boys their hoodies. They absolutely love them. Just wanted to say too, thank you for being a real inspiration and role model for J and A. I’ve seen them both grow so much over the last year and it’s partly down to the time they spend in the Dojo. Many thanks Sensei. All the best for Christmas and New Year. Take care and we’ll see you in the New Year." 🥹🎅🏻🎁☃️🥋

18 years of working with the Heaton community.
18 years of steady growth.
18 years of ups, downs, joy and anxiety.
18 years of helping people.

The martial arts we teach don't just focus on the physical, far from it. Mental health and emotional intelligence are at the forefront of our values.

Life has been a struggle for so many, for years now, but we provide a safe, disciplined, enjoyable environment for people to challenge themselves and show that they're not going to just roll over and give up.

We teach people to be accountable, responsible and respectful. These traits are lacking so terribly in today's world from people of all ages and walks of life, but we won't bend.

Karate will not be a lifelong activity for most, but the lessons remain ingrained and help the students to live a much more fulfilled life.

Thanks to every single person that's ever stepped foot in our Dojo. It's been a wild ride, and my baby has now grown into a strong, successful adult. Here's to EIGHTEEN years! 🥂🖤❤️🥋🙇‍♂️

October black belt training was intense. ✊

Amazing attendance (the most ever, I think) and effort shows me that the academy is healthier than ever, both at the higher and lower ranks.

We did a practice test in preparation for next month's gradings, and went through some kihon and kata.

It takes discipline to be a martial artist. A lot of people feel attacked when their flaws are exposed. We all have them, and need to be willing to look within to improve.

Keep going. 🙇‍♂️

September black belt training, our first one since June, was excellent today. ✊

We ran through half of our Kihon Ido (fundamental movements), once slowly, once quickly, and once with pure aggression. We then focused on Kata & Bunkai. 🥋

The depth of detail and information can't be described here. You have to attend in order to experience it, with the improvements happening in real time at the Dojo. 🙏

Only a handful will ever understand what it truly takes to commit to something like this for life. Well done, all. Gradings are coming. 🙇‍♂️

We have some sad news to share with you this afternoon. We have sadly found a body in the search for missing Newcastle woman Katherine Watson.

The 50-year-old, also known as Katie, was reported missing yesterday.

Since then, extensive searches have been carried out by ourselves and partners including Mountain Rescue to locate her.

Sadly, this morning a body was discovered in the Jesmond Dene area. Formal identification has yet to take place, however it is believed to be Katherine.

Her next of kin have been made aware and are being supported by specially-trained officers.

This is an incredibly sad outcome and our thoughts are with Katherine’s loved-ones at this difficult time. We will continue to support them in any way we can and we ask that their privacy is respected.

Thank you to everyone who shared our appeals, provided information and supported our search for Katherine.

We did a sweepstake for Euro 2024, and had so many people enter that we had to split it into three pools! ⚽🔥

Here are the winners that drew Spain and have bagged themselves £50 each! 🇪🇸💷

Congratulations, and thanks to everyone that participated! We've raised another £210 for our California trip next year! 🏆🇺🇲
