βπ Brew Monday at Clarice Cliff πβ
Instead of Blue Monday, we chose connection, warmth, and wellbeing with a joyful Brew Monday celebration. Our students came together for an afternoon-tea-themed session designed to uplift, engage, and encourage positive social experiences.
Pupils enjoyed a rich, multisensory experience, exploring the sights, smells, tastes, and textures of cakes, biscuits, finger sandwiches, fruit tea, and English tea. These sensory opportunities supported curiosity, exploration, and enjoyment, helping students respond to both new and familiar experiences with confidence.
Fine-motor skills were thoughtfully embedded as students practised pouring with teapots, showing growing control and independence. Alongside this, we explored feelings and emotions using symbols and signs, supporting communication and helping pupils link sensory experiences with emotional language.
The session encouraged shared attention, turn-taking, and positive social interaction, with students showing anticipation and engagement throughout each stage of the activity.
A truly warm and meaningful afternoon that promoted wellbeing, independence, and joyful learning πβ¨
