This Saturday, 5th September, we begin another brand new term at The Marilyn Jones Dance Centre, and this one feels particularly special… come join us as we celebrate 50 YEARS of MJDC! 🥹💛🖤

For five decades, generations of dancers have walked through our doors. Some came for their very first dance class, some stayed for years, performed in countless shows, took exams, made lifelong friends and eventually brought their own children back to dance with us! 🥹

We are also incredibly proud of the professional successes that have begun right here at MJDC, with former dancers going on to build careers within the industry and perform professionally across the UK and around the world! 🌎✨ From that very first dance class to professional stages worldwide, we love seeing where an MJDC journey can lead! 🥹

And as we begin our 50th year, it’s also the perfect time for a new dancer to start their own MJDC journey! ✨

Whether your dancer wants to build confidence, make friends, perform, work towards exams, learn new skills, dream of a future career in the industry, or simply LOVES to dance, we’d love to welcome you!💛

❤️🖤 RARE SPACES AVAILABLE IN OUR MINI CLASSES! 🖤❤️

Due to some of our little dancers moving up to the next level, we have something that doesn’t happen very often… spaces available in our Mini classes! 🌟

Our brand-new term starts Saturday 5th September, so if you’ve been thinking about introducing your little one to dance, gymnastics and movement, now is the perfect time to join us! 🥰

🩰✨ MINI MIX ✨🩰

A magical introduction to Ballet, Tap & Disco!

Through creative movement, imaginative storytelling and music, our little dancers explore different styles of dance while developing confidence, coordination, musicality and listening skills.

From twirling ballerinas and tapping toes to energetic disco moves, every class is packed with music, imagination and FUN! 💃🎶

📅 Mondays 3:45–4:15pm
📅 Saturdays 9:00–9:30am

🤸‍♀️⭐ MINI TRIX ⭐🤸‍♀️

Perfect for little ones who love to climb, roll, balance, bounce and explore!

Mini Trix combines dance and gymnastics in a fun, exciting class designed especially for our youngest dancers.

Each week we get out our giant AcroPad and gymnastics equipment, giving our Mini Trix dancers the chance to explore different movements, practise their rolls, balances and beginner acro skills, and build their strength, flexibility and coordination through play.

It’s energetic, exciting and a brilliant way for adventurous little ones to burn off some energy while learning new skills and growing in confidence! 🤸‍♀️❤️

📅 Mondays 9:30–10:00am

❤️ Both classes are for confident walkers up to 4 years (Nursery)
👩‍👧 Parents stay with their dancer
🌟 Build confidence
👯 Make new friends
🎵 Develop musicality & listening skills
🤸 Improve coordination, balance & strength
💭 Encourage imagination & creativity
🥰 And most importantly… have LOTS of fun!

Our Mini classes are all about giving children a happy, exciting and positive first experience of dance and movement in a friendly, welcoming environment. ❤️

Places in our Mini classes don’t come up very often, so we’d love to welcome some new little dancers to MJDC this September! 🥹

Wow 🤩 What an incredible day yesterday! 💛✨

A huge well done to our MJDC Allstars & Starlets who were absolutely AMAZING at the Together Again Festival! We couldn’t be prouder of every single one of you! Your behaviour was impeccable all day, you represented MJDC beautifully, and your performances were outstanding from start to finish!!

We did have to make some last minute changes to the spacing as the stage barriers weren’t as far forward as originally planned, but the dancers took it all in their stride in a quick rehearsal backstage! They adapted so quickly, stayed focused, and performed with confidence and professionalism! That ability to stay calm and adjust is such an important skill, and they absolutely smashed it! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

To top it all off, after performing they got to enjoy watching artists including The Ordinary Boys, Heather Small, Reverend and the Makers, Jax Jones and Becky Hill, making it an unforgettable day for everyone! Lots of amazing memories with family and special friends made!!💖🎶🎉

Thank you to all of our amazing parents, chaperones and supporters for helping make the day run so smoothly! We are beyond proud of our incredible Allstars & Starlets 🥹 You truly did MJDC proud! 💜💖💙

✨ MJDC Allstars & Starlets! ✨

What an amazing group of MJDC Allstars & Starlets we have!! We are sooo proud of every single one of them!! 💖

Over the last two days they have worked so hard, learnt so much, pushed themselves out of their comfort zones, and the teamwork, encouragement and support they’ve shown each other has been truly wonderful to witness 🥹💖 The energy in the studio has been something really special!

We can’t wait to see our amazing Allstars & Starlets take to the stage at the Together Again Festival this Saturday - performing at the same festival as music artists such as Becky Hill, Jax Jones, Heather Small and The Ordinary Boys!! We know they are going to shine, and we can’t wait to see them perform at such an amazing event!!

🤩✨ SHOWTIME 2026… what a week! ✨😅

Where do we even begin? We are so incredibly proud of every single performer who stepped onto that stage this week! The hard work, dedication, resilience and passion have been absolutely amazing to watch! Every rehearsal, every costume change, every dance… you all gave it your all, and it truly showed!!❤️

With temperatures soaring in the middle of a heatwave, there was certainly no shortage of sweat this week! 🥵😂 But despite the heat, everyone just got on with it, kept smiling and continued to give 110%! The atmosphere backstage and in the theatre has been nothing short of incredible, and that’s something really special and we are proud of our TeamMJDC ❤️🤩

A huge thank you to our wonderful team who made it all possible…

💖 Our amazing teachers and student teachers - we really do have the best team!

💖 Our incredible chaperones who cared for all of our performers - they went above and beyond to ensure all the dancers had a wonderful experience!

💖 Every single backstage and front of house volunteer who gave up their time to help everything run so smoothly! Lots of new faces helping out this year which was so lovely and we are so grateful!

💖 Cheryl & Daisy for keeping everything running perfectly on tech!!

💖 Deb on Stage Door - what would we do without you Debbie!!

The wait is finally over… Showtime 2026 opens tonight! 💛🎭

We would like to wish every single one of our incredible dancers, singers, teachers, chaperones, volunteers and backstage team the very best of luck! You’ve worked so hard and now it’s your time to shine! We couldn’t be prouder of each and every one of you! ❤️

☀️ It is going to be a very warm evening, so if you’re joining us in the audience, don’t forget to bring a handheld fan and a bottle of water to help keep cool!

Congratulations to Symphony!! 💙🩰✨

Symphony has officially completed her Junior Associates journey with The Royal Ballet and we honestly could not be prouder of her!

To be part of such a prestigious programme takes dedication, commitment and a real love for dance, and Symphony has given it her all! She works so hard in every class! Symphony is also part of our MJDC Junior Allstars and an Acro Dance Associate too… what a star!! 🤩⭐

We love seeing our dancers embrace every opportunity, push themselves and enjoy the journey, and Symphony has done exactly that! 🥰
