Our Painted Lady butterfly caterpillars have arrived today! The children are excited already. We'll watch them grow and talk about the lifecycle of a butterfly during circle time. Eventually, once the caterpillars have turned into cocoons will move them into a mesh habitat where they will emerge into beautiful butterflies. The children will collect leaves from the garden and we'll feed them with fruit and sugar water. Once all of the children have seen them, we'll let them go in our amazing garden!

Give 5 back blows between their shoulder blades
Turn them over and check their mouth each time
2. Squeeze it out

Turn the baby over, face upwards, supported along your thigh
Put two fingers in the centre of their chest just below the ni**le line; push downwards to give up to 5 sharp chest thrusts
Check the mouth each time

Take the baby with you to call
Repeat the steps 1 and 2 until help arrives

Grasp the fist in the other hand and pull sharply inwards and upwards, giving up to 5 abdominal thrusts
Check their mouth each time

This week the babies enjoyed a playdough making activity. They enjoyed helping with the pouring and stirring, we counted the cups as we poured them in '1,2,3!' To learn our numbers and to help with our maths skills! Once we finished making the playdough we squashed and squeezed it into all different shapes and sizes helping to develop our fine motor skills. We love being creative in babies!

A Nursery full of full belly's today! A HUGE THANK YOU to our super Nursery cook - Alex and assistant - Tracy for today's Christmas dinner - all of the children and staff tucked into a feast fit for the King and Queen! Ladies you did an amazing job, we are all so grateful - but we all want to go asleep now! Sabrina gave them a bunch of flowers afterwards to thank them for their hard work and to say how much we appreciate them. 🥰🙌 🎄🍽️

Last Wednesday, 10th December, we had a special visit from Santa and 2 of his reindeers - Dasher and Dancer. 2 Elves and the Reindeers visited the Nursery (all the way from .... Ammerton Farm). The children and staff, group by group came into the courtyard to meet the reindeers and have a photo with Santa, which have all been sent out to parents. Santa also gave all the children a personalised certificate headed 'The Official Nice List'. It was a super morning. A big thank you to Stephanie for arranging this and a big thank you to Santa too! 🫎🦌🎄🎅HO HO HO!

Here's what our Pre-school group have been creating this morning - handprint poppies for the remembrance poems. We also took part in the 2 minute silence. Stephanie our SENCO and Early Years Co-ordinator did circle time with the children and her soldier Paddington Bear talking all about how soldiers help us. 🫶
