Please find attached, a couple of posters advertising the return of the 3rd amazing Children’s Book Festival – ‘Festival of Brilliant’ and the Young Writers’ group, Sparks, which is now looking at new bookings from Sept onwards.

Festival of Brilliant – this takes place in the grounds of Biddulph Old Hall and pulls together some of the best children’s authors, illustrators and fun wraparound activities in the UK. We are so lucky to have this on our doorstep. Highlights this year include the former Children’s Laureate Joseph Coelho and the Comic Man – Marc Jackson. Sparks Young Writers – meet at Newcastle library once a month and the age group is 8-12 years. They are now taking bookings for the next academic year, starting Sept. Newcastle Under Lyme Junior 2026-7 - Spark Young Writers

Why not pop along to Newcastle-under-Lyme Library on a Tuesday for the free sessions.

⛪ Parish of Chesterton Holy Trinity Church Weekly Newsletter

Our weekly newsletter is attached to this post. This Sunday, 14th June, is the Second Sunday after Trinity.

If you would like to learn more or join us for worship, you will be very welcome at our service this Sunday at 10:30am.

Newcastle Family Hub are pleased to share that Sparks to Your Success will be delivering a supportive 6-week teen parenting course for parents and carers of teenagers.

This will be a rolling programme running up until the end of March 2027, giving families ongoing opportunities to access support. The sessions will be delivered face-to-face in the evenings, helping to optimise attendance for parents who work or are unable to attend during the day.

Each group can facilitate up to 16 parents, and we are working to ensure the sessions are inclusive and accessible, including for those where English may not be their first language.

The course is designed to provide practical tools, real conversations, and a supportive environment for parents navigating the challenges of raising teenagers. Topics include:

Building stronger connections and communication
Understanding teenage brain development
Managing big emotions and behaviours
Setting effective and respectful boundaries
Navigating digital life and online influences
Looking after their own wellbeing

The approach is non-judgemental and supportive, offering real-life strategies rather than lectures. Parents are also given the opportunity to connect with others who share similar experiences.

Feedback from parents who have already attended these sessions has been extremely positive, highlighting the value and impact of the programme.
