☀️Please ensure that your child comes into hedgehogs with a named sun hat.

☀️Please apply suncream to your child before they come into hedgehogs and we will reapply if needed.

☀️ Please also ensure that you bring in your child's suncream if they don't already have it stored at Hedgehogs.

⭐️Happy Monday⭐️

What a wonderful day we’ve enjoyed in the sunshine. While making the most of the sun, the children have also been learning about the importance of staying safe in the sun ☀️

The children took part in discussions about sun safety and helped our dinosaurs 🦕 apply sun cream to protect them from the sunshine. They also enjoyed decorating their own sun cream bottles.

Following world music day🎵 yesterday, the children explored a variety of musical instruments 🥁, creating different sounds and rhythms while listening to music 🎶

Hedgehogs have also been busy checking on their caterpillars 🐛 and we’re excited to discover that they have now transformed into cocoons.

What a wonderful time we had celebrating all the amazing daddy’s at our Father’s Day Stay & Play!

⭐️Hedgehogs have been making the most of the warm weather this week and have enjoyed lots of outdoor learning🌳

Yesterday, the children took part in painting at the easel, creating large marks and developing their gross motor skills.
They were also so excited to watch the tractor 🚜 cut the long grass, sparking conversations about the world around them.

Today, our Hedgehogs enjoyed exploring cars and paper tunnels, experimenting with fitting the cars through the different sized tunnels and over them developing their problem solving skills.
They also practised their fine motor skills by using tweezers and hand tools to sort the coloured Pom poms into the matching coloured bowls.

Hedgehogs have had so much fun exploring the sand tray with buckets, sieves, and spades 🪣🏰 to develop their imagination and fine motor skills.

The children also enjoyed making and decorating their own ladybird 🐞 biscuits using red chocolate and sprinkles, showing great creativity🤩

As part of our summer and holidays topic, the children explored the travel agents role play area✈️. They investigated different summer clothes in the suitcase 🧳, and had lots of fun trying them all on!

During circle time, we checked on our new friends, the ladybugs and caterpillars. The children observed that the caterpillars are beginning to look “spiky”🐛.

⭐️We have welcomed some very special visitors to Hedgehogs🐞🐛

The children will have the opportunity to observe, discuss, and care for the ladybugs and caterpillars. Through this experience, the children will learn about life cycles, growth, and the importance of caring for living things.

Once the insects have completed their life cycles, the children will release them safely onto the school field🍃🌷🌳
