Very proud of our children who took part in the first 'Little Voices' visit at the Royal Stoke hospital.

We had a visit on Friday from Adam Jogee for Newcastle-under-Lyme - all our wonderful Westlands children made a great impression on him!

This term we have had a permanent orienteering course installed on-site by Cross-Curricular Orienteering.
The children had a whole day of induction earlier in the term, teaching them how to set their maps and find efficient routes around the school grounds. Hopefully the children will be able to enjoy the course for many years to come!

Due to the forecasted snow and ongoing icy conditions in our area, we will be closed tomorrow, Tuesday 6th January , for the safety of our students and staff.

Local roadways and conditions surrounding the school have been impacted, and after careful consideration, we have made the decision to close school for the day. We understand that this may be an inconvenience, but the safety of our school community is our top priority.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. Stay safe, and we look forward to welcoming students back once conditions improve.

We hope everyone has had a wonderful Christmas and New Year! Just a reminder that tomorrow is an INSET day for staff only, and the children are back at school on Tuesday 6th January - we are looking forward to hearing all about their holidays!!

Our singing club have performed festive classics old and new at the bottom of the drive this afternoon - we hope everyone enjoyed it and you are now full of the festive spirit!

Our Reception superstars put on A Twinkly Nativity for a very full audience yesterday. We hope you all enjoyed it!

Staffordshire University Academies Trust wishes to formally consult regarding Westlands Primary School’s admissions arrangements for 2027/2028. In line with the School Admissions Code, we are required to carry out a public consultation with regards to changes to our Admissions Policy.

We are consulting on adding the Westlands Primary School to the overarching Admission Arrangements for the Trust and for the 2027/2028 admissions year.

Our Year 1 class had a visit today from The unconventional Menagerie as part of their work on hot and cold places. They brought along a meerkat, a chocolate millipede, an owl, snakes and a gecko, among other things.

As you can see from the photos, Year 1 have had a brilliant time!

If you child is due to start Reception in September 2026, we look forward to welcoming you to one of our information sessions over the next couple of days

These will be held tomorrow (Wednesday 5th November) at 2pm and Thursday 6th November at 10am and 6pm.

There will be an introduction from the headteacher, and a tour to allow you to see the school in action and get a flavour of life at Westlands.
