🐾 MEET THE TEAM – DOTTIE

You’ve met Teddy, our Chief Meet & Greet Officer. Now meet Dottie – Head of Security. 🐶🔒

Dottie takes her role very seriously and makes sure we know whenever anyone arrives on the yard.

Unlike Teddy, she shouts at everyone – whether she knows you or not! 😂

Thankfully, the CCTV, electric gates and palisade fencing do the real security work – Dottie just provides the noise!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Another lovely 5-star review!
“Really well run business.”
Short and sweet, but exactly the sort of feedback we love to receive. ❤️
As a small family-run business, there’s a lot that goes on behind the scenes to keep Dragon Guard running smoothly, so comments like this really do mean a lot to us.
Thank you Mandy!

We had a slightly unexpected visitor at Dragon Guard tonight! 🐦💙
We found a little Manx Shearwater on the ground and, after getting some advice, it has now been safely collected by Manx Shearwater Rescue.
It will be checked over and, all being well, released so it can continue its incredible journey south towards South America. 🌎
We’re sharing the post below as it’s really useful to know what to do if you find a grounded Manx Shearwater at this time of year.
Safe travels, little one! ❤️🐦

📢 PLEASE HELP! Please do help us spread the word about how to report a stranded Manx Shearwater in Pembrokeshire or neighbouring areas using our hotline. Share this post with you contacts now and help us save as many stranded Manxies as possible this season.

☎️ Our volunteer operated hotline is now live 24/7 although will go to answerphone during the night and messages will be picked up and replied to in the morning.

🦆 Please note that we can only rescue and release Manx Shearwaters and not other seabirds or wildlife. If you find other injured seabirds please contact the RSPCA or local wildlife rescue centres.

♻️ We’re giving this one another little share!
Our Zero Waste Week post didn’t seem to make it in front of many people the first time around – and as it includes some brilliant local organisations and useful links, we thought it deserved another chance. 😊
If you missed it, have a read below 👇
There are some great local ways to donate, repair, borrow and reuse rather than simply throwing things away.
♻️ Zero Waste Week continues until Friday.

♻️ Decluttering doesn’t have to mean throwing things away.

Next week is Zero Waste Week (7–11 September) – a great reminder to think about whether the things we no longer need could be reused, repaired, donated or repurposed instead. Find out more: Zero Waste Week - https://www.zerowasteweek.co.uk/

We’re lucky to have some brilliant local initiatives here in Newcastle Emlyn too:

👕 Donate – Emlyn Circle C.I.C., https://www.facebook.com/groups/730683897099210/which supports local community causes, and Farplace Animal Rescue Shop https://www.facebook.com/farplaceshopnewcastleemlyn are both great places to give unwanted items a new home.
🔧 Repair – before throwing something broken away, take a look at our local Newcastle Emlyn Repair Café https://www.facebook.com/p/Newcastle-Emlyn-Repair-Cafe-100087120402557/ .
🛠️ Borrow – Pethau Pawb Emlyn – Library of Things lets you borrow useful items rather than buying something you might only need occasionally https://pethaupawbemlyn.lend-engine.com/home-15 .
📦 Keep – and if you want to keep something but simply don't have room for it at home, that's where we can help!

We’re expecting a small number of humidity-controlled storage units to become available soon, so please get in touch if you'd like more information.

Donate • Repair • Borrow • Reuse • Keep ♻️
