🐾 Happy National Dog Day! 🐾
We couldn't let National Dog Day pass without featuring two very important members of the Dragon Guard team… Dottie & Teddy. 🐶🐶
You may have already met Teddy, but today he's joined by Dottie — and the two of them couldn't be more different!
Dottie is our serious one. She's always on alert, likes to know exactly what's going on and can be a little anxious if anything is out of place. She takes her unofficial role as Dragon Guard security very seriously!
Teddy, on the other hand, is the joker of the family. He's laid-back, happy-go-lucky and generally takes life in his stride. His priorities are people, playing and seeing what mischief he can get into next. 😂
Somehow, despite their very different personalities, they're the best of friends — although apparently sharing one tiny bed is preferable to using one of the other perfectly good beds available to them!

While our CCTV, electric gates and secure fencing do most of the hard work, Teddy likes to think he's in charge around here. ❤️
He's always on patrol, loves greeting familiar faces and takes his role as Chief Meet & Greet very seriously (especially if treats are involved!).

Keep an “essentials box” separate.
It’s worth having one box with the things you might need first — chargers, kettle, mugs, important paperwork, medication, school/work bits, pet items, or anything you don’t want buried at the back.
It’s one of those small things that can save a lot of stress later 😅😅

If you happen to find the odd Nerf bullet when you visit your unit, now you know why… 👀
As a birthday treat, once the yard was closed, we used the space for a Nerf battle — safe, supervised and lots of fun 😄
We think we found most of the bullets afterwards...but they do seem to have a talent for disappearing into the most unexpected places.

Some people use storage to give themselves a little more breathing space — moving belongings in gradually, keeping things safe between dates, or simply taking the pressure off the big move.
It can make the whole process feel a bit more manageable, especially when there’s cleaning, decorating, paperwork, keys, children, pets, work and everything else to juggle.

Today is National Family Owned & Operated Businesses Day — a day to celebrate the family-run businesses behind so many of the services we all rely on.
It seemed like the perfect opportunity to share a little of the Dragon Guard story.
The first photo shows where we started back in 2015. The second shows Dragon Guard Self Storage today.
When we established Dragon Guard, all we had was a vision, plenty of determination, and a lot of hard work ahead of us.
Over the years, we’ve developed the site, expanded our facilities, introduced new storage options, gained planning permission for our home on site, built the house ourselves, welcomed hundreds of customers, and been fortunate enough to receive industry recognition along the way.
There have been long days, challenging moments, and more than a few late nights, but we’re incredibly proud of what Dragon Guard has become.
What hasn’t changed is that we’re still a family-run business. We live on site, manage the business ourselves, and care deeply about providing the kind of service we’d expect to receive.
