With just a week to go until we welcome our Thrive children back, we’re getting very excited! 💚

We’re busy preparing, creating and getting all of our spaces ready for another year of learning, exploring and growing together. 🌱

🍃 Welsh & Wellbeing Wednesdays are back this September! 💚

Our Wednesdays bring together Welsh language, culture, creativity and wellbeing for home-educated children aged 5–12.

🐉 Welsh Mornings
Learn and develop Welsh through fun, engaging activities, games, stories and creativity. Each term, we’ll delve into a different traditional Welsh tale, crafting our way through Welsh culture, legends and places while building confidence with the language.

💚 Wellbeing Afternoons
Afternoons are all about happiness, curiosity and connection. Through hands-on activities, nature, exploration, discovery and creativity, children have space to learn, connect and simply enjoy being together.

🍂 Looking forward to the Autumn Term at Thrive!

As part of our commitment to offering children a broad and balanced curriculum, we provide supplementary enrichment sessions throughout the year, bringing in specialists to share their knowledge, skills and enthusiasm with the children.

This autumn, we’re really excited to welcome archaeologist Dr Matt Beresford to Thrive for three special archaeology sessions! 🏺⛏️

The children will have the opportunity to step back in time and bring history to life through practical, hands-on learning:

🦣 Ice Age Hunters – discovering how early humans survived during the Ice Age.

🔥 Life in the Mesolithic – exploring the lives, skills and tools of hunter-gatherers.

🪨 Henge Builders – investigating the people who created some of Britain’s incredible prehistoric monuments.

These sessions will give children the chance to experience history rather than simply read about it – investigating evidence, asking questions, exploring artefacts and learning through doing.

What a way to finish the academic year! 🌿💚

We've seen amazing growth in every child—not just in what they know, but in who they're becoming. More confidence, stronger friendships, greater resilience, growing curiosity, and a real love of learning.

Through a Head, Heart and Hands approach, our children continue to develop intellectually, emotionally and practically, with meaningful, hands-on experiences every week.

We're so proud of them all and can't wait for another exciting year together! ☀️🌱

The Magic of Mixed ages🌿

Our afternoon sessions take inspiration from the Montessori mixed-age approach.

Bringing different ages together creates a lovely learning environment. Younger children are inspired by older peers, while older children develop confidence, leadership and empathy by supporting those around them.

Whether we're building, creating, exploring outdoors or following a shared interest, everyone has something to learn—and something to offer. We love seeing those natural friendships and learning opportunities grow. 💚

Today our more confident Welsh speakers enjoyed a session dedicated to improving their spelling skills through a range of engaging activities and challenges.

Meanwhile, in the Pod, we've continued to draw inspiration from Dylan Thomas and Under Milk Wood, exploring some wonderfully creative painting techniques! 💚✨

🐬🌊 What a day! 🌊🐬

Our enrichment day in New Quay had it all – dolphin spotting, hands-on science, sea swimming, exploration and plenty of adventure.

From learning about the marine world to experiencing it firsthand, the children spent the day asking questions, making discoveries and creating memories together.

The Conkers have been deepening their understanding of shape, exploring angles, symmetry, vertices and more through hands-on activities both indoors and out.

Meanwhile, the Acorns have been developing their number sense, exploring how numbers work, spotting patterns, making connections and building confidence. 🪵🌎⭐
