Before the holidays, Mrs. McSorland had the absolute pleasure of taking her Reception class on an unforgettable tour of cruise ship, Liberty of the Seas! 🚢

All of the planning and risk assessments were certainly worth it because, as Elliott put it, it was “the BEST trip EVER!”

The children explored every possible nook and cranny, including areas that are usually off-limits to guests. Highlights included the incredible ice rink, chatting with the officers on the bridge, and discovering just how tiny the ship’s steering wheel really is!

After walking over 10,000 steps before lunch, some well-earned downtime in the kids’ club was just what everyone needed. Lunch in the Windjammer buffet was another exciting part of the day, especially being served strawberry and kiwi juice while waiting to choose from the fantastic selection of food. Unsurprisingly, multiple desserts quickly disappeared!

A huge thank you to everyone who gave up their time to support the trip, and a very special thank you to Royal Caribbean and Hudson’s dad, for such an incredible opportunity.

It was a memorable day of exploration, learning and fun – an experience the children will be talking about for a long time. 💚💙

Our Year 8 pupils had an amazing week in Devon 😎

As their final ever Trips Week at Thorngrove before they head off to their senior schools, Year 8 had a super sunny and fun time in Devon. They tried a raft of activities including surfing, tunnelling, an assault course, kayaking, high ropes and bike riding!

It was a fantastic week and all thanks to the time and effort of the staff that accompanied them - a huge thank you to you all! 💚💙

Our Year 7 pupils enjoyed an action-packed trip to Yorkshire for an unforgettable week!

From cheese tasting at Wensleydale Creamery, exploring the stunning landscapes of Malham Cove, Gordale Scar and Janet’s Foss, to riding the Embsay & Bolton Abbey Steam Railway, discovering Skipton Castle, caving, climbing, abseiling and even cooling off in the river at Burnsall Park - every day brought a new adventure.

They rounded off the week with a sweet visit to Cadbury World before heading home.

A huge thank you to our fantastic staff for making the trip possible, and well done to our amazing Year 7 pupils, who represented the school brilliantly throughout. 💚💙

Year 6 had a blast at PGL last week!
PGL Adventures

They tried everything they could including archery, climbing, buggy building, abseiling, canoeing, the giant swing and the zip wire! They managed to stay cool during the heatwave and they returned happy and exhausted from a wonderful week where many had challenged and overcome their fears!

A big thank you to the fantastic staff who accompanied them and made the trip possible - they loved it!

What a fantastic trip for Year 5! ☀️

Last week they headed to South Wales and enjoyed the stunning Gower Peninsula in glorious sunshine.

From exploring beautiful beaches and discovering the local area to taking on exciting adventures, it was a trip to remember. On the journey home, they stopped at a climbing centre before finishing the week with treetop challenges and team-building fun at Go Ape in Southampton.

A huge thank you to our amazing staff, who always go above and beyond to make experiences like this so memorable for our pupils. 💚💙

Years 3 & 4 had a wonderful time off timetable last week taking part in some exciting STEM activities 💚💙

Sadly, the intense heat meant their night away camping was cancelled, but their wonderful teachers made some fantastic alternative plans and they all had a blast at the Thorngrove beach club! 🏖️🍦😎

Many thanks to everyone who planned and executed such a fantastic week - the children all had a fabulous time!
