City Arts - Newbury Community Art Hub with Café and Exhibition Space - open weekly Thurs to Sun 10am-4pm. We run art workshops & events for all ages.

We’ve had a very special delivery!

An extra-special bake has arrived at City Arts - a delicious apple & blackberry loaf, complete with Peter Rabbit’s famous little blue coat!

A fitting treat after last night’s brilliant fundraising event, A Tale of Beatrix Potter, presented by Newbury Dramatic Society.

A huge thank you to everyone who came along and supported the event, and of course to our amazing volunteers who gave their time to help make the evening such a success.

We’re so grateful for your continued support of City Arts Newbury - and what better way to celebrate than with cake!

Join us for September Ceramics 2026, featuring seven talented local ceramicists and potters.

Discover the beautiful Japanese art of Kokedama - creating living plant sculptures in moss-covered spheres. A relaxed, hands-on workshop where you’ll create your own to take home. 🌱

🎨 Street Art with Kevin Waite
Saturday 5 September | 10am–12noon | £35
Children aged 8+ & teens

Learn the fundamentals of abstract street art with graffiti artist Kev. Experiment with acrylics, explore different techniques and create your own canvas masterpiece to take home.

Introduction to Indian Miniature Painting with Neeta Madahar

Adults | Suitable for beginners

Celebrating our first Chalkfest winners!

Choosing a winner was no easy task - Newbury is clearly full of talented chalk artists! Our huge thanks to one of our wonderful artists for kindly taking on the difficult job of judging all the entries.

And, of course, a massive thank you to everyone who came along, supported us and got involved.

A special shout-out to our amazing volunteers too - we simply couldn’t run these fantastic community events without you!

Congratulations to our winners, and thank you to everyone who made Chalkfest such a colourful and creative day!

Back to school already?! We know… we don’t want to think about it either!

But as we start looking ahead to the new term, why should the creativity stop?

We’re open 10am–4pm today, so why not come and join us at City Arts for a little end of the summer treat, before the school routine kicks back in.

We’ve got a fantastic line-up of creative workshops and courses starting this September, with something for all ages and interests including:

Make the most of the summer and pop in to see us!

We’re open 10am–4pm, so why not come and say hello? We’re located just a short stroll from City Park, making us the perfect place to pop in before or after enjoying some time in the sunshine (between the showers).

And a huge thank you for supporting us! Every purchase you make - whether it’s a coffee, a bottle of our fabulous apple juice or some of our delicious honey - helps us continue to run creative and community workshops.

Weekend treats are here!

We’ve got some delicious rhubarb & custard cake waiting for you, along with a very special Battenberg cake - because weekends are made for cake! 💕

We’re open all weekend, 10am–4pm, so why not pop into City Arts, enjoy a hot drink and treat, and take a little time to relax?

We’ve also got new colouring sheets ready for our little visitors, giving them the chance to get creative while you enjoy your coffee (and perhaps a slice of cake!).
