I just received a notification of my very final student to enter an exam so well done to James getting his Grade 6 Merit Pass. No mean feat on the classical guitar. Well done to him and good luck for the future.

My final two exam results in February just before I retired from teaching. Huge efforts from them to get Distinction and Merit passes from two lovely children who have incredibly nice parents to support them. Many years of memories for me as I think about doing new things.

Great start to the school year with two superb exam results. Young Harry achieving a Distinction at Grade Two and Evie a Merit at Grade 3 in the Trinity College Guitar Exams. Huge congratulations to then and their lovely parents. Tremendous achievements for their ages and having lovely and supportive parents makes such a difference to the child's development and ability.

Well done to Harry. A Distinction at Initial Grade. Both Harry and his parents are really pleased he's now doing a graded syllabus structure and it has brought his enthusiasm and motivation on leaps and bounds. Such a change from when he turned up a couple of months ago. These new video exams are proving quite a new challenge as the marking has become much stricter making high marks quite difficult to achieve but I'm really pleased with how my students are reacting and coping with the extra depth of tuition I'm providing to help them thorough.

An honour to be working on one of Newbury Royalty's guitar today with Sir Lambies Faith electro acoustic. Top quality this one already with a very low action and relief so only a clean and re-string required. It is true you get what you spend and here is a lovely example of that in sound and playability.

First, Saturday (Corn exchange) May 18 @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pmThe Romano Viazzani Ensemble playing A Night Of Argentinian based on Astor Piazzolla’s famous quintet. Many of Piazzolla's work are transcribed for solo guitar in the Trinity College Syllabus. Second Jack Hancher Guitarist Friday 24th 12.30 at the Corn Exchange.

Just finished a restring (D'Addario EJ-45), fret polish and neck oil lubrication for just £25. This is the Yamaha CG182C one of my favourite guitars for Grade 4 and onwards - lovely instrument.
