Animals in Clay
Dean’s new six week animal sculpture course will be starting on Tuesday 22nd April 9.30-12.30.

Animals are inspirational, they have character, power, intelligence and so many more amazing qualities besides. The result of this magnificence is that artists have enthusiastically celebrated animal forms for millennia.

This course, led by clay artist Dean Allen, will aim to continue and expand upon this wonderful tradition. So whether you are obsessive about an Orangutan, dig a wombat or love a horse this course will help you create an animal sculpture with verve, individuality and powerful presence.

£50 deposit to secure the place, payable to Nottingham Ceramic School directly. The remainder is to be paid before the course starts to Dean.

🚨 BREAKING NEWS 🚨

Results are in from a recent bat survey at the site of the four trees at risk of destruction. Over 108 bat calls were detected in 40 mins!! 🦇

We’ve been writing several emails to Newark and Sherwood District Council to let them know they need a bat ecologist on site before any work is commenced and had zero replies. Planning has already began to fell the trees as volunteers monitoring the site have started to meet businesses coming to inspect the site to start erecting fencing and remove the top soil.

⚠️ Now this survey has been done independently, Newark and Sherwood District Council can’t ignore this data and need to abide to the law and implement a full ecological impact survey before these trees are touched!

Please write to your councillors and remind them of the reasons we appose their decision!

- Car parking occupancy in Newark is about 60%
-The trees are protected by Tree Preservation Orders
- A promised car parking review has not yet taken place
- A promised public consultation has not taken place
- A 2018 petition signed by 1,700 local people the Council opposed the decision
- The Council declared a climate emergency in July 2019
- Over 200 residents and visitors recently peacefully protested to protect their urban green space
- High bat activity has been detected, and no full ecological impact survey has been conducted.
