We are delighted to welcome our newest feathered friends to our setting! 🦆

Creating our own farm environment reflects the rich farming heritage of our local community while providing meaningful cultural capital for all of our children. Although farming is a significant part of our area, not every child has the opportunity to experience caring for farm animals firsthand. By bringing these experiences into our setting, we are helping children develop a deeper understanding of where food comes from, how animals are cared for, and the important role farming plays in our community.

Caring for our chickens and ducks gives children the opportunity to develop responsibility, kindness, patience, and empathy as they help feed them, provide fresh water, and keep their home clean. These daily routines encourage children to respect living things and understand the commitment involved in caring for animals.

Spending time with our chickens and ducks also supports children's confidence, communication, curiosity, and wellbeing. They can observe how they grow and behave, ask questions, and develop a greater appreciation for the natural world through real-life, hands-on experiences.

We can't wait to watch the special bonds our children build with our newest feathered friends and see the wonderful learning opportunities they will inspire. Here's to many exciting adventures together!

Spending time outside helps children build stronger muscles and bones through active play, improves concentration, creativity, and problem-solving skills, reduces stress and anxiety while boosting mood and confidence, develops social skills through play with others, and provides fresh air, natural light, and vitamin D, all of which support overall health.
Whether it's climbing trees, riding bikes, exploring nature, or simply playing in the Garden, every minute spent outdoors helps children learn, grow, and thrive.

Here at Little Toes North Muskham we have created a curriculum tailored to providing children with Learning ritch outdoor play, every day in every type of weather!

Our places fill quickly, so get in touch today to arrange a visit to our Hygge-accredited nursery setting in North Muskham.

We offer funded places for children aged 9 months to 5 years in a warm, nurturing environment designed to help children learn through a love of the great outdoors!

Good afternoon,
Our nursery software operator Blossom is currently down. They have said they are hopeful it will be up and running soon however this does mean that there will be no daily diaries today, as always staff will let you know how your child’s day has been when they are collected.

A very big well done to our nursery manager Josh who ran in the Great North Run yesterday in 2 hours and 25 minutes!

As we reach the last hour of this week before we close next week I wanted to say a big thank you to our families for being so understanding as to why we have decided to start closing for this week of the year.

Next weeks nursery closure means that:

🧒 Staff members can spend time with their own children before they return to school.

☀️ Staff who are friends outside of work can go on holiday together, we can usually only allow one member of staff to be on holiday at one time.

🧑‍🧑‍🧒‍🧒 We have several members of staff who are also family, next week means that they can spend time together outside of nursery.

I’m sure you will all join me in wishing our hard working staff team a very well deserved week off.

We will look forward to seeing you all back at nursery from 1st September.
