Meet Shaun 👋
Hi, I’m Shaun, and I’m the person behind Thursday Sports Club.
For the past 11 years, I’ve worked in primary schools, gaining experience in a variety of sporting roles. During this time, I’ve worked as a sports coach, delivered sports interventions, and run sporting after-school clubs on a daily basis.
Sport has always been a huge passion of mine, but what I enjoy even more is getting children involved in sport and seeing what it can do for them. Watching children grow in confidence, develop new skills, try something they’ve never done before, make friends and, most importantly, have fun is what makes it so rewarding.
That’s exactly what I want to bring to Thursday Sports Club.
Each week, we’ll have the opportunity to try a wide range of different sports, games and activities. While many clubs focus on one particular sport, I wanted to create something different — a place where children can come along, try new things and discover something they really enjoy.
You never know… your child might find a sport they absolutely love that they never knew they were interested in! 🏀⚽🎾🏏🏓
I’m originally from Edwinstowe, where I lived for 27 years, so this village is very close to my heart. I genuinely believe Edwinstowe is a fantastic community and that these sessions can offer local children another opportunity to get active, try new things and create some great memories.
I’m really excited to get started and hopefully build something that children look forward to every Thursday.
If you have any questions about the club, the sessions or what your child can expect, please feel free to get in touch.
Thank you for taking the time to read this, and I hope to see you at Thursday Sports Club!
Shaun
