Former ASI student Luke Wordsworth flew in yesterday for a surprise visit 🛬

After graduating with British Airways, gaining his wings last week, Luke took to the skies for the first time as cabin crew for British Airways from London Heathrow to Boston 🎉

Over the next month Luke will be working both short and long haul flights to LA, Georgia and Lisbon to name a few!

Last week, we welcomed 85 Year 6 pupils for a Primary Engineers Day, delivered in partnership with East Midlands Railway 🔧

The pupils travelled by train to Newark for this exciting grassroots learning project, designed to encourage young people to consider future careers in engineering.

Working alongside our ASI students, they designed and built the fastest and most streamlined trains possible before decorating them and putting them to the test! The challenge was to create a train that could travel in a straight line, reach top speed, and brake effectively to a stop 🚆

The day also provided a valuable opportunity for our ASI students to develop their work-based learning and personal development skills while supporting and inspiring younger learners.

Travel & Tourism students smashed their fundraising target yesterday, raising £263 for The OLLIE Foundation, a charity dedicated to su***de prevention and mental wellbeing✨

Students spent the day hosting a car wash for staff and students to help raise awareness of su***de in teenagers and young adults 👏

We're also looking forward to welcoming visitors to the Air & Space Institute (ASI), part of the UK Government's new D-TEC (Defence Training and Education Capability) programme, which is helping to develop the next generation of talent for the aerospace, aviation and defence industries.
