Today we celebrated an incredible 60 years of Sconce Hills Preschool Playgroup

For six decades, our playgroup has been at the heart of the community, welcoming generations of children through our doors.

Community playgroups like ours are so much more than childcare. They are a place where families are supported, children are encouraged to flourish, and every child is known, valued and celebrated as an individual. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has been part of our journey over the past 60 years – our families, volunteers, committee members, staff (past and present), and our local community.

A huge thank you to our incredible staff team, who have supported, encouraged and nurtured each child every step of the way. Thank you for building their confidence, creating such special relationships, and making every child feel safe, valued and loved. Your dedication and kindness have helped shape them into confident, happy children who are ready for their next chapter 🫶🏻

Thank you also to all of our wonderful families for trusting us to be part of your children's early years journey. It has truly been a privilege.

To our graduates, we are so proud of each and every one of you. Watching you grow in confidence, kindness and independence has been a privilege. We wish you every happiness as you begin your next adventure at school. 🎓

And last but certainly not least a huge thank you goes to all of our committee members, past and present. As volunteers, you have given your time, energy and dedication to ensure our playgroup continues to thrive. Your commitment, support and belief in what we do has always been appreciated and valued more than words can say. We simply couldn't do it without you, and it truly means the world to us.

❌Please don’t cover prams, buggies and travel systems with blankets, cloths or any cover that stops the air flowing.

You might think you're protecting your little one from the sun but actually you are trapping the heat in around them and you risk the baby getting too hot.

heat advice for babies out and about:
✅Use a clip-on sunshade or parasol. This will keep your baby shaded while allowing air to circulate and give you a clear view of your baby.
✅Check your baby regularly to see if they’re getting too hot by feeling their chest or the back of their neck.
✅Keep babies out of direct sunlight as much as possible, their skin is much more sensitive than ours.
