A very warm welcome back to all of our children and families! We hope you’ve had a wonderful break and are feeling refreshed, excited and ready for the year ahead.

What a wonderful morning we had with our new Year 3 children!

The children had a fantastic time getting to know their new surroundings through an exciting orienteering activity where they explored the building, found different locations and began to find their way around AJS.

A huge welcome to all our new Year 3 children and families – we are so pleased to have you as part of our AJS community and can't wait to see all the wonderful things the children will achieve!

Today, we said a fond farewell to our amazing Year 6 children during our Leavers' Assembly.

It was wonderful to welcome into school the families of our Year 6 children to celebrate everything they have achieved during their time at AJS. They have grown in confidence, resilience and kindness, and we are incredibly proud of the young people they have become.

While we will miss them, we know they are ready for the exciting journey ahead. We wish every one of our Year 6 children the very best of luck as they begin the next chapter at their secondary schools. Embrace every opportunity, believe in yourselves, and continue to be the fantastic individuals you are.

Earlier this week, our Year 6 pupils had an amazing day at ShoreSports, Mudeford Quay, taking part in kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding and beach activities as part of their end-of-year celebrations.

The children embraced every challenge with enthusiasm, demonstrating excellent teamwork, resilience and determination as they learned new skills on the water. It was wonderful to see so many smiling faces and children stepping out of their comfort zones to try something new.

A huge thank you to Nick and the team at ShoreSports for providing such a fantastic experience. The children had a wonderful time and created memories that will stay with them long after they leave Ashley Junior School.

🔥Y4 Dragon Training Academy!🔥

Our Year 4 children became expert instructors at the beginning of the week, for a magical visit from Year 1.

Taking inspiration from the story Zog, Year 4 hosted a "Flight and Roar" academy. They created mini shelters to safely protect people from the dragon’s fire and together they explored clever wing designs.

Year 4 handed out special stars, so every Year 1 visitor took a piece of the story home!
