❗Uniform Update for September 2026❗
We are pleased to confirm the uniform arrangements that will take effect from September 2026. These changes reflect updated government expectations that schools should limit the number of compulsory branded uniform items wherever possible.
From September 2026, the required branded uniform items will be:
• School skirt (where applicable)
• School jumper
• PE top
• School tie
The school blazer will no longer be a required item from September 2026.
**TO SUPPORT A SMOOTH TRANSITION, EXISTING PUPILS HAVE THE OPTION OF WEARING EITHER THE BLAZER OR THE SCHOOL JUMPER DURING THE THE 2026-27 ACADEMIC YEAR.**
From September 2027, blazers will no longer form part of the school uniform. All other aspects of the school uniform remain unchanged.
MAKE-UP AND JEWELLERY
We have also reviewed our expectations regarding makeup and personal presentation following discussions through Year Councils and School Council. Pupils shared thoughtful feedback about the role that appearance can play in confidence and well-being, and how feeling comfortable with their appearance helps them feel ready to learn and engage positively in school life. Having considered these views carefully, we have updated our policy while maintaining our high standards of presentation.
Our updated expectations are:
• A single plain gold or silver stud earring is permitted in each ear lobe
• All other piercings must be removed or replaced with a clear retainer for school
• Earrings and retainers must be removed for PE (the use of tape is not permitted)
• Long hair must be tied back for practical lessons, PE and technology
• Make-up should be natural and subtle
• False eyelashes are permitted if they are natural in colour
• Nail varnish, gel, shellac and acrylic nails are not permitted
• Temporary tattoos are not permitted
