The Heart of the Ballard Community - The Friends of Ballard

In our latest Speech Day 2026 highlight, our Headmaster Mr Stuart Turner celebrates the remarkable contribution of the Friends of Ballard School (FOBS).

Bringing together parents, staff and volunteers, FOBS continues to enhance every corner of school life through an incredible programme of events and initiatives. From Ballard Fest, Fireworks Night and the Christmas Tombola to coffee mornings, quiz and curry nights, the Easter Chocolate Tombola and many smaller activities throughout the year, their energy and enthusiasm have helped create lasting memories for pupils, families and staff alike.

Mr Turner also expressed his sincere thanks to the FOBS committee, recognising their commitment, enthusiasm and unwavering support of the Ballard community.

Excellence Through Progress: Science Success at Ballard

Outstanding Success in Mathematics at Ballard

In our latest Speech Day 2026 highlight, our Headmaster Mr Stuart Turner celebrates an exceptional year of achievement in Mathematics at Ballard.

Pupils enjoyed outstanding success across a range of prestigious national competitions, including the Intermediate Mathematical Challenge, the Pink and Gray Kangaroo, and the Junior Maths Challenge.

Across all competitions, Ballard pupils earned an incredible six Gold, ten Silver and 28 Bronze awards, making this the strongest set of results in the school's history.

These achievements reflect not only the talent and dedication of our pupils, but also the strength of the school's Maths programme in encouraging curiosity, problem-solving and a love of learning.

Heritage Open Morning - Last Few Tickets Remaining

Step back in time and discover the fascinating history of the Ballard Estate at our Heritage Open Morning.

Set within a 34-acre estate, the main Ballard School building was built over 120 years ago as a country residence for the Ubsdell family and still retains many beautiful Arts and Crafts features. Guided by staff and alumni with a passion for local history, visitors will explore period rooms, Teale fireplaces, original Dressler and de Morgan tiles, and the Heritage Room, which tells the story of Ballard's journey from country estate to thriving school.

This is a rare opportunity to uncover the people, stories and hidden treasures that make Ballard such a unique part of New Milton's heritage.

Tours take place on Saturday 12 September at 9.30am and 10.30am and last approximately 45 minutes.

A Celebration of Opportunity and Community

In our latest Speech Day 2026 highlight, Head Boy Tom and Head Girl Nina reflect on the opportunities, friendships and experiences that shaped their time at Ballard.

From performing on stage and travelling abroad to embracing challenges outside their comfort zones, they share how Ballard's supportive community has helped them grow in confidence and discover new passions. Their message to younger pupils is simple but powerful: never be afraid to try something new, embrace every opportunity, and make the most of everything Ballard has to offer.

It was also a pleasure to celebrate with Tom and Nina once again on GCSE Results Day on Thursday,. We congratulate them on their achievements and wish them every success as they take their next steps.

Perfect Scores, Outstanding Success...

We are absolutely delighted for our pupils who gained 100% in their recent GCSE examinations, an incredibly hard thing to achieve.

Congratulations to Maggie, who scored 100% in Maths and 100% in Statistics. That means no errors across four hours of exams.

We would also like to congratulate Alice and Esmé, who both achieved a perfect 100% in their Textiles coursework.

This follows last year's achievement by Rowan and Ella-Maria, who both gained 100% in their Art coursework.

We are incredibly proud of their dedication, talent and hard work.

"I love Forest School because..."

There's no better way to explain the magic of Forest School than hearing it directly from our Year 3 pupils.

From Kindergarten to Year 5, pupils enjoy regular Forest School sessions across our three dedicated woodland sites, led by our specialist Forest School teachers. Through exploration, teamwork and adventure, pupils build confidence, independence and resilience while developing a lifelong love of the natural world.
