Thank You for a Fantastic Year!

As another wonderful school year comes to an end, we'd like to say a huge thank you to all of our amazing children, parents and carers for your continued support and all of our lovely cards and gifts.

School is now closed to children for the summer holidays and will re-open on Monday 7th September 2026.

If you have any questions over the summer break, please email [email protected]. Emails will be monitored throughout the holidays, but please allow a little extra time for a response.

We hope you all have a safe, relaxing and enjoyable summer holiday. We look forward to welcoming everyone back in September!

August Holiday Club at Hague Bar Primary School – 10th–14th August

Last week, we had the pleasure of welcoming our new Reception families to our school. We loved meeting so many of you and seeing the excitement as your children begin their journey with us.

We are holding our Meet the Team evening on Wednesday, 8th July, from 6:00pm to 7:00pm.

This is a great opportunity to meet our new and existing members of staff, find out more about school life, and ask any questions you may have.

Last week, welcome emails were sent to families of children joining our Reception Class in September 2026. These emails included a letter containing important information about our transition morning, as well as our Pupil Information and Consent Form. We look forward to welcoming our new families into our school community.

We are looking for a playworker to provide fun and engaging activities in our very popular after school club.

The position is to cover a maternity leave and would be ideal for someone intersted in a career as a Teaching Assistant or Primary Teacher and is currently studying or looking for some part time work.

Hassop children explored how light can be used to communicate by learning and using Morse code. They had a fantastic time sending messages to each other using flashes of light, discovering how simple signals can carry meaning over a distance.

They also investigated and proved that light rays travel in straight lines through a series of hands-on activities, helping them understand how light behaves and why it’s so effective for communication.

A fun and engaging way to combine science, communication, and a bit of history!

Last Monday afternoon, our Year 5 and 6 pupils worked alongside New Mills Town Council to help plant fruit trees at Waterside Park . The children showed great enthusiasm and teamwork, taking pride in contributing to a project that will benefit the community for years to come. It was a fantastic way to bring learning outdoors and celebrate the importance of caring for our world.
