er numerous calls for him to commence a school of his own, Sensei Ganesh finally relented by starting a dojo in April 1973 whilst only a yellow belt himself. Subsequently, Sensei Ganesh was to become the first martial arts tutor in the northern region. Sensei Ganesh moved to the UK in 1990 with his family where he quickly established a dojo with a few students largely consisting of his four children. Gradually expanding to three dojos, Sensei Ganesh soon found himself joining the Amateur Shotokan Karate Association, where under the teachings of Sensei Balwant Singh Sahans and Sensei Harvinder Sagoo, he would come to nurture the more philosophical teachings of karate. This ultimately has helped Sensei Ganesh to grow not only his understanding of the art but in turn develop his students into more complete martial artists. Despite coaching many of his students to various successes both at the regional and national levels, Sensei Ganesh himself remains highly competitive participating in various high calibre tournaments.
