Thank you for visiting us again Martin, (Charlie's Promise) and for sharing Charlie's story so powerfully with our students. Your session was thought-provoking, impactful and an important reminder of the devastating consequences of knife crime.

We are incredibly grateful for your continued partnership and commitment to educating young people, helping them make informed choices and keep themselves and others safe. The message of speaking out and looking after one another is one that resonates strongly with our school community.

Thank you for inspiring over 500 of our students today, and we look forward to welcoming you back to Fullbrook and Fullbrook 6 in the future. πŸ’™

🌟 Work Experience Success at Air Products 🌟

We would like to extend a huge thank you to Air Products for welcoming Rebekah (Year 10) for an exciting and immersive week of engineering work experience.

During her placement, Rebekah gained valuable insight into the world of engineering, learning about cryogenics, air separation technology, and the industrial uses of gases such as hydrogen, helium, nitrogen, argon, and oxygen.

As part of her experience, Rebekah took part in a team design project where she worked with a group to plan the equipment and costs required to supply liquid nitrogen to a customer and convert it into gaseous nitrogen at a specified pressure. The team later presented their proposal, and we are delighted to share that Rebekah’s group won the challenge.

Throughout the week, Rebekah also learned about different types of valves, important safety procedures, and how to create P&ID (Piping and Instrumentation Diagram) drawings. The experience helped her develop new technical knowledge while also strengthening her teamwork skills by collaborating with people from a variety of backgrounds.

A highlight of the week was a visit to the Air Separation Unit (ASU) in Didcot, where Rebekah had the opportunity to see the large distillation columns where air separation takes place and learn more about the processes involved.

Reflecting on her placement, Rebekah described the experience as incredibly insightful and said she learned many new skills and concepts that have further inspired her interest in engineering.

Thank you once again to Air Products for providing such a fantastic opportunity and giving Rebekah a truly memorable work experience. πŸ‘πŸ”¬βš™οΈ

On Thursday, our Year 12 students had the fantastic opportunity to welcome Nathan Vince, Bank Ambassador from the Bank of England, for an inspiring and insightful talk.

Nathan shared his career journey, highlighted the wide variety of roles available within the Bank of England, and explained the important role the Bank plays in supporting the UK economy. He also offered valuable advice on careers in finance and the different pathways available to young people interested in the sector.
The session concluded with an excellent Q&A, where our students impressed Nathan with the quality and thoughtfulness of their questions. Special recognition goes to Rithik and Manuel, whose insightful contributions reflected their ambition to pursue careers in finance.

A huge thank you to Nathan for giving up his time to support and inspire our students. Opportunities like this are invaluable in helping young people explore career options, develop their aspirations, and make informed decisions about their futures.

Do you work in an industry or profession that could inspire the next generation? We'd love to hear from members of our community who would be willing to share their career journey and experiences with our students. Please get in touch if you'd like to get involved.
