Our Graduation Celebration!

What a wonderful day we had celebrating our amazing school leavers!

The children had a fantastic time at their graduation party, making special memories before they begin their exciting journey to big school.

We were delighted to welcome Jiggy Wrigglers Wi******er and Alton who kept everyone entertained with lots of singing, dancing, laughter, and fun!

After all the excitement, we enjoyed a delicious party tea with lots of yummy treats before gathering together for the highlight of the day – receiving our special graduation certificates! We are so proud of each and every one of our children and all they have achieved during their time at Perins Pre-School.

It has been a privilege to watch them grow in confidence, make wonderful friendships, and develop into happy, curious learners. Although we will miss their smiling faces, we know they are more than ready for their next adventure.

Congratulations to all of our 2026 graduates – keep dreaming, keep smiling, and enjoy every moment at big school! We know you'll all do amazingly well. 💙

Last week we visited our wonderful friends at Bailey House

As part of our learning all about getting ready for big school, we spent the morning enjoying lots of activities together with the residents. We designed our own school uniforms, coloured pictures of the big schools we'll soon be attending, completed puzzles, played with cars, and shared stories and smiles.

We were also very lucky to enjoy a delicious snack of apple and a cookie, kindly provided by Sally. Thank you, Sally!

These visits have created such special friendships, and as our children prepare for their next adventure, we know they will miss Sally, all the lovely ladies, and the fantastic staff at Bailey House very much. Thank you for making us feel so welcome and for sharing so many happy memories with us.

On our walk back to pre-school, we also stopped to have a look inside the church, giving the children another lovely opportunity to explore our local community. The Alresford Area Churches

Dinosaur Home Learning Activity 🦖

We have been exploring and learning about dinosaurs at preschool! We have been digging for dinosaur skeleton bones. Frozen dinosaurs in ice and then rescuing them, made dinosaur feet, tails and colouring in dinosaurs.

To continue the learning at home, we would love your child to take part in a simple dinosaur activity. Dinosaur Discovery Hunt Go on a dinosaur hunt around your home, garden, or local park.

Encourage your child to:
- Look for items that are big or small like different dinosaurs.
- Find natural materials (leaves, sticks, stones) to create a dinosaur habitat.
- Practise counting by collecting and counting "dinosaur eggs" (stones, balls, or other safe objects).

Please bring any drawings, photos, or creations back to preschool so we can share them with our friends.

A Wonderful Day in Our Community!

Our pre-school children enjoyed a lovely walk into Alresford to visit the local art gallery. Alresford Art Society We had a fantastic time looking at all the different pieces of artwork and talking about the colours, shapes, and ideas behind them. A huge thank you to all of the talented artists for sharing your wonderful creations with our community—it was such a special experience for the children.

After our visit, we walked back to pre-school to collect our friends who had been enjoying their transition visit to Sun Hill Infant School

We would also like to say a big thank you to everyone at Sun Hill Infant School for providing such welcoming and enjoyable school visits. Our children have loved spending time exploring their new school ahead of starting in September, helping them to feel excited and confident about this next big step.

The children were also very lucky to visit the Infant School's art gallery. They watched the Year R children perform some beautiful songs before exploring the amazing artwork created by the pupils. It was a wonderful celebration of creativity and a lovely way to inspire our children.

🌱 Our Perins Pre-School garden is bursting with life! 🌻

We’ve been busy sowing, watering, and watching our little patch grow — and look at all the wonderful things we have coming along! 🌿

🌽 Tall sweetcorn
🎃 Giant pumpkins
🫘 Crunchy beans
🍅 Juicy tomatoes
🌸 Fragrant sweet peas
🍓 Tasty fruit trees
🦋 And a beautiful wildflower garden, just for the bees, butterflies, and mini beasts!

The children love checking on our plants every day, learning where food comes from, caring for nature, and spotting all the visitors to our wildflower patch. It’s magic watching tiny seeds turn into something wonderful! ✨

Exploring Art Through Creativity and Play!
Our pre-school children have had a fantastic time exploring art in lots of exciting and creative ways!

We experimented with different tools to make unique marks and patterns, including using fly swatters to create fun and colourful prints. The children loved discovering how everyday objects can be used to make amazing artwork!

We also worked together to build and decorate our very own junk wall, using a variety of recycled materials to inspire creativity, imagination, and teamwork.

To finish our art exploration, each child created their own special masterpiece, expressing their ideas and celebrating their individuality.

Art is such a wonderful way for children to develop their creativity, confidence, fine motor skills, and self-expression, and we've certainly had lots of fun along the way!

A Wonderful Visit to Bailey House! Bailey House

The children from Perins Pre-School had a fantastic day visiting the lovely residents at Bailey House. Before we arrived, we made a special stop at the bakery, where Michelle kindly treated everyone to a delicious gingerbread man to enjoy at lunchtime!

At Bailey House, the children and residents spent time together enjoying a range of creative activities. We coloured pictures inspired by famous artists, shared stories, and conversations about art, and got crafty making beautiful bracelets and necklaces using brightly coloured pasta. The children also loved creating colourful sun catchers using paper plates and a variety of vibrant materials.

It was wonderful to see the children and residents connecting through creativity, conversation, and laughter. These intergenerational experiences are so valuable, helping to build confidence, friendships and a sense of community for everyone involved.

A huge thank you to the staff and residents at Bailey House for making us feel so welcome. We had a truly memorable day and look forward to visiting again soon!

Construction Week at Perins Pre-School!

The children have had a fantastic time exploring all things construction this week through a variety of exciting hands-on activities!

We got creative with our painting by using Duplo bricks to make interesting patterns and prints. The children also enjoyed a walk to the new housing development, where we observed the diggers, construction vehicles, and building works in action. There was lots of discussion about the different jobs people do on a building site and the machinery they use.

Back at pre-school, the children worked together to build their own roads and obstacle courses using loose parts, developing their problem-solving skills, creativity, and teamwork. We also created a construction-themed sensory tray, filled with different textures and construction vehicles, encouraging exploration, imaginative play, and sensory discovery.

It has been wonderful to see the children's curiosity grow as they learned about the world of construction through play, creativity, and real-life experiences. 🏗️👷‍♀️👷‍♂️
