Food is more than a mealtime. 🍎

Chicken or Vegetable Curry

Serves: 4
Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Cooking Time: 25-30 minutes

Ingredients
For the Curry Sauce
1 tin chopped tomatoes
1-2 tsp curry powder
½-1 tsp chilli powder (adjust to taste)
1 tsp garam masala
200ml coconut milk (optional)
For the Curry
2 chicken breasts, diced or your choice of vegetables, chopped
1 tsp curry powder
½ tsp chilli powder
½ tsp garam masala
To Serve
Rice
Method
Blend the chopped tomatoes until smooth.
Pour the tomatoes into a saucepan and add the curry powder, chilli powder, and garam masala.
Heat gently, stirring occasionally, until the sauce begins to simmer.
If using, add the coconut milk and stir well. Continue cooking until the sauce is hot and flavours have combined.
In a separate frying pan, fry the diced chicken or vegetables with the curry powder, chilli powder, and garam masala until cooked through.
Add the cooked chicken or vegetables to the curry sauce and simmer for 5-10 minutes.
Meanwhile, boil the rice according to the packet instructions until fully cooked.
Serve the curry over the rice and enjoy!

Tip: Add extra vegetables such as peppers, onions, peas, or spinach for added flavour and nutrition.

Pre School have been exploring the bugs in our Autumn Garden! 🐞🍂

We have been talking a lot in Pre School about autumn, discussing how we know it is autumn and the different things we might find during this season. The children have enjoyed looking for bugs in the garden and talking about the changes they can see around them, such as colourful leaves, cooler weather, and autumn treasures.

The children love using the sensory stones during their imaginative play. These open-ended resources encourage them to recreate their experiences, act out their ideas, and process their learning through play. It has been wonderful to see them using the bug stones to tell stories, explore their knowledge of autumn, and develop their communication and creativity.

What a fantastic way to learn about the world around us while having fun! 🍁🐛🐜✨

The Importance of Messy Play at Nursery

Just a quick pointer to a really useful website. The rules for 'pants' and the 'Pantosaurus' song can help children to understand how to keep themselves safe. This website can be a good starting point for conversations around toileting and children's bodies and one we use alot in the setting .
