Hi all,

As primary school teachers in the local area we are looking at doing a Christmas advent book hunt.

The way this will work is between now and Friday 24th November, people can donate to raise funds for books in the local community via a Justgiving fundraising page (link below). Then, we will purchase a selection of children’s books, from early years, right up through to young adults. The number of books will depend on the amounts raised. (Pre-loved books would also be encourage, let us know if you would like to donate these)

Following this, these books will then be wrapped and hidden in places in the CH64 area for our community to find. An item will be hidden each day on the run up to Christmas, starting on the 1st December, with the final package to find on Christmas Eve!

We hope our community can get behind this idea bring books into more hands of our children this Christmas time!

⭐️LEGO WELL-BEING CLUB⭐️

In a time where well-being and mental health is on everyone’s mind, we are strong believers there is no better way to unwind and relax after school. Whether you want to unwind with friends, or meet some new ones, this is the perfect session for you!

With our qualified schoolteacher on hand, if anything is on your mind then just let us know in our safe environment.

Join us on Wednesdays at 6-7:15pm for some calm and well-being time, with activities such as:
- Lego
- Mindfulness colouring
- Board games
- Table tennis
- Air hockey
- Table football
- As well as those much needed snacks

Come and join the fun in a calm and peaceful manner at Pinewood Tennis Club

We are running this as a trial over these 4 weeks:
- 12th & 19th July
- 2nd & 9th August

Maths sessions will focus on the underlying principles of maths, building on the children’s foundations, subsequently allowing them to tackle the year appropriate curriculum points.

We endeavour to make sessions as fun and as interactive as possible through concrete, pictorial and digital resources and games.

English sessions will address any weak points in children’s learning such as:
— Spelling
— Punctuation
— Grammar
— Creative writing
— Reading
— Reading comprehension
— Handwriting

Or if there is a certain point you would like an individualised focus on, then just ask!
