Learn to play piano and read music with an experienced & fully trained female piano instructor. Hello, my name is Janet Bevan. I am the Principal and Piano Teacher for Pianissimo School of Music, based in the Bryncoch area of Neath. I have over 45 years of experience in playing and teaching. I prepare pupils for examinations with LCM (London College Of Music) and ABRSM (Associated Board And Royal School of Music) with a successful proven track record. Some pupils prefer to just learn for the fun of it, and that is fine too! All ages are welcome. Our current students range from 6 years old to 65 years old. Adult lessons are conducted on a one to one basis, often during the early afternoon. You don't need any background - from scratch is a good place to start! I try to offer flexible tuition times, but my schedule is pretty full most of the time, so if you are keen to have a go, get in touch quickly to book a space. As well as teaching piano, we offer music theory for students to learn to read music for other instruments or singing, e.g. if you learn an instrument at school/college you probably have no theory input but will need to be at Grade 5 standard to proceed past Grade 5 on your instrument. I can help to get you prepared and enter you for the necessary exams in due course. With full CRB check (DBS), you can be confident in leaving your children in my care. Parents are welcome to attend the first lesson with their children to help them settle in. Children are usually taught in pairs for added security - plus it helps to create a relaxed and fun working environment. Please feel free to contact me and ask questions.
