Thanks to Mark Dacey, CEO of NPTC Group, for meeting with me on Friday.

Lots discussed including the gap in funding for taking on students, the coverage of campuses they have from Neath to Maesteg and even to Newtown, and the new Port Talbot campus that will hopefully be ready by 2030.

And congratulations to NPTC Group for winning the Princess Royal Training Award 👏

🎥 Wrth i Mark Dacey, Prif Swyddog Gweithredol Grŵp Colegau NPTC, baratoi i ymddeol ar ôl mwy na 40 mlynedd mewn addysg bellach a thros 22 mlynedd yn arwain y Coleg, rydym yn edrych yn ôl ar yrfa ryfeddol ac etifeddiaeth barhaol 👏🏻

O adael yr ysgol yn 16 oed heb unrhyw gymwysterau ffurfiol i ddod yn un o arweinwyr addysg mwyaf uchel eu parch Cymru, mae stori Mark yn un o benderfyniad, cyfle a chred ym mhŵer trawsnewidiol addysg 🧑‍🏫

Yn y fideo hwn, mae Mark yn myfyrio ar y profiadau a luniodd ei yrfa, y gwersi y mae wedi'u dysgu, y bobl a'i ysbrydolodd, a'i obeithion ar gyfer y dyfodol 🌟

Yn ystod ei gyfnod yn y Coleg, mae Mark wedi goruchwylio newid a thwf sylweddol, gan helpu i lunio Grŵp Colegau NPTC yn un o brif ddarparwyr addysg Cymru. Eto pan ofynnwyd iddo beth yr oedd fwyaf balch ohono, nid adeilad, gwobr na charreg filltir oedd ei ateb. Y bobl oedd yno: ymroddiad y staff a llwyddiant y dysgwyr ❤️

Ymunwch â ni wrth i ni ddathlu cyfraniad rhagorol Mark i addysg a diolch iddo am fwy na dau ddegawd o arweinyddiaeth weledigaethol yng Ngrŵp Colegau NPTC 🎉

🎥 As Mark Dacey, CEO of NPTC Group of Colleges, prepares to retire after more than 40 years in further education and over 22 years leading the College, we look back on an extraordinary career and lasting legacy 👏🏻

From leaving school at 16 with no formal qualifications to becoming one of Wales’ most respected education leaders, Mark’s story is one of determination, opportunity and belief in the transformative power of education 🧑‍🏫

In this video, Mark reflects on the experiences that shaped his career, the lessons he has learned, the people who inspired him, and his hopes for the future 🌟

During his time at the College, Mark has overseen significant change and growth, helping to shape NPTC Group of Colleges into one of Wales' leading education providers. Yet when asked what he is most proud of, his answer wasn't a building, an award or a milestone. It was the people: the dedication of staff and the success of learners ❤️

Join us as we celebrate Mark’s outstanding contribution to education and thank him for more than two decades of visionary leadership at NPTC Group of Colleges 🎉
