A huge well done to our Level 3 Business learners in Brecon, who hosted a fantastic promotional event today for our Business FE & HE courses! ๐
The learners took the lead in creating all the event resources and putting together merchandise bags, while confidently engaging with members of the public throughout the day.
The event saw a great footfall and plenty of positive conversations โ already resulting in an application and a conditional offer for the BTEC course! ๐
Weโre incredibly proud of their hard work, professionalism, and success. ๐

๐ What a fantastic achievement by our Level 3 Business Year 1 learners in Newtown! ๐
Yesterday, as part of their 'Managing an Event' module, our learners organised a hugely successful raffle and cake stall โ and we couldnโt be prouder of everything they accomplished.
Over the past two weeks, the group demonstrated outstanding teamwork, creativity, and organisation while planning the event. From designing and sourcing prizes for two themed hampers โ a luxury pamper hamper and a cosy movie-night hamper โ to promoting the event and engaging supporters, they created real excitement across campus.
Weโd also like to say a huge thank you to the local independent businesses whose generous donations helped make the event such a success. A special mention goes to Hilltop Honey for donating a wonderful hamper, and to Sidoli's for supplying an amazing selection of cakes and sweet treats that were thoroughly enjoyed by staff and learners alike. ๐ฐ
Most importantly, the learners chose to support Lingen Davies Cancer Fund โ a fantastic local charity supporting people affected by cancer across Shropshire and Mid Wales.
Thanks to the learnersโ hard work, enthusiasm, and dedication, the event has already raised an incredible ยฃ315! ๐
This has been a brilliant opportunity for learners to apply their classroom knowledge in a real-world setting while developing valuable skills in communication, teamwork, and event management. We are extremely proud of all they have achieved.

The Business students from our Newtown campus organised a successful Colour Run at Dolerw Park last weekend to raise funds for Cancer Research. โค๏ธ๐ค
The event had 200 fun runners, walkers, and supporters of all ages. The students planned and organised the event which included liaising with local suppliers, and their hard work paid off as the Newtown and Llanllwchaiarn Town Council provided funding to support the event.
Our Business Lecturer, Harriet Bailey, couldnโt be more proud of the students for executing such a successful event.๐คฉ๐๐ผ

๐ The Countdown Is On!
Over the last two weeks, our learners have really stepped up the pace with their Event Management Final Major Project โ and things are getting exciting!
From detailed planning sessions to hands-on prep, thereโs been a real buzz as the big day draws closer. One of the highlights? A fantastic collaboration with Stuart Owen, Community Organisation Manager at Open Newtown. Stuart has been working closely with our learners to help set the scene and strengthen connections across the local community and Powys borders. ๐๐ฌ
The momentum didnโt stop thereโฆ
Itโs been another brilliant week for our Event Management learners!
We kicked off this week with an early morning meeting with Hafan Yr Avon Manager, Barry Edwards, who delivered an incredibly engaging session on communication and promotion. ๐ฌ๐ข
Barryโs insight sparked a one-off partnership opportunity, giving our learners a chance to apply their knowledge and enhance both traditional and digital marketing strategies โ a major boost to their understanding of collaboration and customer engagement. ๐๐ค
Weโre so proud of how our learners are rising to each opportunity with professionalism and passion. The event is shaping up to be something really specialโฆ and we canโt wait to share it with you all! ๐ Roll on the 1st of June.
