Nursery and Reception absolutely love exploring clay.
Using clay gives the children a rich hands on experience. They love rolling, squeezing, pinching and shaping. Itβs lovely to see how each child approaches this differently, from creating models to simply enjoying the sensory experience.
What looks like simple play, is actually full of deep learning and discovery! π

A busy time in Elm Class (Year 5) Pupils explored drama and used rhetorical questions to understand how to persuade others during literacy lessons. They confidently performed and presented their ideas, thinking carefully about how language can influence an audience. Pupils also used their digital skills to create presentations explaining why learning about fractions is important. They made clear links to real-life situations, such as sharing food fairly, measuring ingredients when cooking, telling the time and solving everyday problems.

Nursey have focused on bringing their stories to life through play. We have loved retelling the story The Three Little Pigs using blocks, building and rebuilding as they explored. Reception have been busy creating storyboards, helping them sequence the story and deepening their understanding of the tale. Wonderful storytelling skills shining through βοΈβοΈβοΈ
