Chestnut Class have been busy!!

Last week, we got creative with clay, making acorns linked to our literacy story and exploring and describing different textures as we worked.

This morning, we shared our Passion Project pitches, giving everyone the opportunity to share their interests and ideas with the class. It was lovely to see the children talking so enthusiastically about the things they are passionate about.

In maths, we have been working with numbers up to 100,000 and using our new approach to solving problems. It has been lovely to see the children becoming more confident and resilient, and really enjoying explaining their thinking.

To finish off the week, we enjoyed a brilliant rugby session with Tonna RFC. A great Friday afternoon, developing our teamwork, communication and rugby skills while having lots of fun. 🏉

A busy week of learning, creativity, problem-solving and teamwork. What a lovely way to finish the week! 🍂

🥉 3rd Place in the Paul Morgan Cup! 🏆

What a fantastic day! So incredibly proud of football team for coming 3rd in the Paul Morgan Cup today👏

They showed so much determination, teamwork, courage and resilience throughout the competition, and it was brilliant to see them supporting and encouraging each other every step of the way. A huge well done to every single one of them, you should all be so proud of yourselves! 🌟

✨ A brilliant day with Bigfoot Arts Education Wales! ✨

Chestnut class had a fantastic time taking part in our Bigfoot Education workshop today. It was a fantastic way to get our new inquiry off to an exciting start and really get us thinking about how beliefs can inspire people to change the world locally, nationally and globally. 🌱💭

The children were fully immersed, sharing ideas, exploring different perspectives and getting stuck into the drama activities. 🎭👏

A huge thank you to Ellie from Bigfoot Arts Education for helping us launch our inquiry with such a memorable and engaging hook workshop. We cannot wait to see where our learning takes us next! 🌎💫

Another awesome week in Chestnut Class! 🌟🌿🍃🍂

We are so proud of all the children and how hard they have worked this week. They have been busy campaigning for our Pupil Voice groups, developing their confidence, communication and leadership skills.

They also enjoyed a fantastic race workshop as part of our inquiry learning and to finish the week, they took part in a mini Dragons’ Den afternoon with Miss Brown, designing products, thinking about profit and pitching their ideas.

🌿 Another busy week in Class Willow! 🌿

We’ve had another fantastic week, continuing to establish our routines, learn new skills and get out and about exploring our local community.

🌳 This week, we enjoyed a visit to Parc Penscynor, where we explored the area and even met some of the local residents along the way! 🐾

We’ve also been building our understanding of connections, thinking about who we are connected to and the important people and places that help us feel that we belong. 💛

A real highlight has been sharing our Belonging Boxes with each other. We’ve loved finding out more about our friends and discovering the people, places, objects and memories that are special to them. 🏡❤️
