Only 2 Science places and 3 Maths and English places remain for our September return to Wychwood Village Hall.

Once filled, we will move to a waiting list.

One parent told us: “I wish I’d known about it sooner.”

Effective tuition should begin before confidence falls, gaps widen and exam pressure builds. Starting in September gives students time to strengthen their knowledge, develop exam technique and make steady progress throughout the year.

Students attending our GCSE tuition typically improved their results by two grades.

Sessions return from Monday 7 September and are led by subject specialists:

Mr L Stewart, MA — Science and Mathematics
Dr C Elkin — English Language and Literature

Our groups have deliberately limited capacity so that every student receives focused, individual attention.

To reserve one of the remaining places, message us with your child’s year group and subject or visit seethemountain.com.

It’s been just over a week since GCSE results day—and the messages from students and parents are still sinking in.

We heard about top grades, an early Chemistry success and achievements that once felt out of reach. But behind every result was something more important: relief, resilience, pride and a young person beginning to believe in themselves.

One parent described their child as “enjoying that feeling of success.” That is what stayed with me.

To every student across Cheshire East: your grade is part of your story, but it does not define your potential.

And to every parent, carer and teacher who kept encouraging them when confidence was low—this moment belongs to you too.

The greatest result isn’t simply a number. It’s believing the mountain ahead can be climbed.

Share this with a Cheshire East family who needs to hear it.

A little holiday find that I’m ridiculously excited to bring back to See the Mountain. 🏔️

We spotted The Lord of the Rings: Fate of the Fellowship while away in Whitley Bay, and I couldn’t leave it behind.

One of the things I love about alternative provision is that learning doesn’t always have to look like a worksheet or happen behind a desk.

For the right young person, something as simple as sitting down together with a brilliant board game can create opportunities to develop literacy, probability, strategic thinking, imagination, communication and turn-taking, all while becoming absorbed in a world and an experience they genuinely enjoy.

Now we just need to find the right Middle-earth-loving student to take it on with us. 🌋💍

We don’t just tutor. We teach.

🌒 Cheshire — struggling to find eclipse glasses for tomorrow?

Don’t worry. You can still enjoy the eclipse safely with something you can make at home in just a few minutes.

We’ve put together this really simple guide to making your own pinhole projector using things you’ll probably already have lying around the house.

A lovely little bit of science to make together tonight, ready for tomorrow — and a great way to get children outside, asking questions and experiencing some real science as it happens. 🔭

At See the Mountain, we’re big believers that some of the best learning starts with curiosity rather than a worksheet.

Please remember — never look directly at the Sun through a pinhole projector. It’s designed to project an image of the Sun onto a surface so you can view it indirectly and safely.

Feel free to share this with any Cheshire families, schools or teachers who might find it useful tomorrow.

Enjoy the eclipse! 🌒☀️

As we reach the end of another academic year, it feels important to pause and recognise just how far See the Mountain has come.

This year, we have worked with young people who had been left behind by education, students who had lost confidence, lost routine and, in some cases, lost any belief that academic success was still possible.

Together, we have helped rebuild that belief.

We have seen learners return to education, achieve 100% attendance within our most intensive provision, access GCSE pathways, grow in confidence and begin to see a future for themselves again. We have supported academic progress, but also independence, socialisation, physical activity, community access and the everyday skills that make a young person feel part of the world around them.

We are incredibly grateful to the parents who placed their trust in us, to the schools and academies that had the courage to explore different solutions, and to every student who kept turning up, kept trying and allowed us to walk alongside them.

This year, See the Mountain has grown in ways we are immensely proud of.

We expanded our Wychwood provision to cover Science, Maths and English.

We partnered with Snap Fitness to create new opportunities around physical activity, confidence and wellbeing.

We began working with new academies to find practical solutions for students who were struggling to access education.

We supported successful reintegration back into learning.

We developed our Adaptive Pathway model, built around one simple principle: the learner does not adapt to the provision, the provision adapts to the learner.

Our team has also continued to grow, with English specialists, curriculum specialists and experienced teachers joining us as we prepare to support more young people next year.

We could not be prouder of the students we have worked with across Crewe, Nantwich and the surrounding areas.

We will remain available throughout the summer for families who need us, although we will be working at a reduced pace and taking some time to rest and prepare.

Then, in September, we go again.

More students. More pathways. More children finding their own way through education.

We cannot wait to see what comes next.

COME ON ENGLAND!

This is a slightly raw reflection, but an important one.

Over the past year, Wychwood has become much more than a tuition group. It has become a calm, consistent space where local students can rebuild confidence, strengthen core subject knowledge, and feel part of something positive.

We have seen students grow in confidence, return to difficult subjects, prepare for GCSEs, and begin to see themselves differently as learners.

Thank you to every family who has trusted See the Mountain this year.

Our Wychwood sessions recommence in September, with specialist secondary support in Science, Maths and English.

For local families thinking ahead to September, you are very welcome to message.

School is not the right place for every child. We recognise that.

Some learners come to us feeling left behind, with no place in education and no belief in an academic future.

Then trust builds. They start to smile. They look forward to sessions. They love learning again.

That is our Adaptive Pathway model.

Be like water, adapt the provision to suit the child, every minute, every session, every week, every term.

AP, EOTIS and reintegration done differently.

“We would not have got there with school alone.”

Parent feedback like this means everything to us.

At See the Mountain, our Wychwood sessions are built around more than just covering content. Students need confidence, exam technique, structure and someone to help them make sense of difficult ideas when school alone has not been enough.

That is what we try to provide each week.

Small group teaching.
Live modelling.
Calm support.
Science, Maths and English.
A clear focus on confidence and progress.

As our Year 11 students move on, we now have limited spaces opening for students moving into the GCSE years.

This is the right time to start, before September, before mocks, and before confidence takes a knock.
