I’ve had a joyful day at the EPTA conference at the Birmingham Conservatoire! SO lovely to see Beate and Lucinda, both hugely inspiring to me!

I attended lectures all day so my head is full with all the notes and ideas I gained. It’s always entertaining and fun listening to Paul Harris and I loved his new book and the ideas he shared on rhythm.

I’m going to take some time to digest all the speakers as I’ve learned something from each of them. The afternoon concert was superb and re-connecting with Angela was another highlight.

You know it’s been worth your time when you come home re-charged, inspired, uplifted, motivated and positive!

It’s my last day teaching today. Thank you for the lovely flowers and gifts I’ve received this week. I’ve especially appreciated the hand written cards, I love those!

Wishing my students and their families a relaxing summer!

I’ll continue to be in touch with parents who have booked summer lessons. Term dates and new invoices for September will be out in August. I’ll of course be moving over to My Music Staff so I’ll give all the details about that too.

Congratulations to my 9 students who sat ABRSM face-to-face exams. The results are in!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

Good luck to 9 of my piano students who are taking exams tomorrow!

It’s the first year I’ve not attended exams. After years of not taking holiday during term time for our four children we’ve had a much needed break due to our youngest two finishing their GCSE and A Level exams. Thank you for your understanding.

Best of luck tomorrow! I’ll look forward to hearing how you’ve all got on.

Summer lessons are also booking up, please do get in touch if you’d like to book a place, summer dates have been sent out. I’ll send invoices on my return from holiday. Thank you. 😁🏖️☀️

One young student enjoys playing her compositions at the start of each lesson. So far this term I’ve heard, Shining, the beach, sun then rain, the ice is falling and sunny days. Today it was ‘Snow fall down…because it’s boiling!’ Eleanor is pure sunshine and never fails to make me laugh each week!

Another student enjoyed time between the piano and the floor today, choosing her rhythm and being creative. She wanted to draw everything herself too. We discussed how to improve it if she were to extend next time, perhaps adding a longer note at the end, or using the notes of a scale other than C and she also didn’t use the double bar lines between bars that were on each rhythm card. This student works so hard and has her own challenges so it was so lovely to see her enjoyment, it was such a happy lesson and helped take our minds off how hot it was!

The ice lollies and fans at home have gone down well too! I shall re-stock for the rest of the week! 😎

It’s the last week of lessons for my private students! That’s come round quick!!

It’s going to be a scorcher so I’ll have fans in my teaching room and also the lounge for parents! And a little ice lolly treat!

Hope you’ve had an enjoyable break?!☀️☀️☀️

Lessons start back tomorrow. Invoices will be out shortly. Please check term dates. 📆 It’s a short term so I’ll finish at the end of June for my private students.

In the next week I’ll also send out summer lesson options. As we are having our summer holiday early I’ll be around and offer summer lessons for private students only. These will be especially helpful for those taking summer performance or theory exams.

I hope everyone has enjoyed their Bank Holiday weekend?!

Thank you for your patience this term as I’ve had some illness which has impacted lessons.

Also private lessons were moved from yesterday to this afternoon to accommodate the Bank Holiday.

In addition, my teaching in St Anne’s has several changes this week and next week with SAT’s. I’ll be in touch to let you know what they are through Music for Life and I’ll be as accommodating as I can.
