Congratulations to Shanice Finbow for scoring this goal and helping her team beat Fleetwood Town. La Maternelle sponsor Shan, who shares the management of our Pre School Room. She has recently recovered from a long term injury and will be playing for Crewe Alexandra Women FC on Sunday 3rd May at The Mornflake Stadium in Crewe. Kick off is 2pm. A big thank you to Cheshire Swim for delivering such a valuable water safety session for our Pre School children today.

During the session, children learned about staying safe around water — including both pools and the beach. The children were shown simple swimming strokes they can use in the water, had the chance to try on different types of floats, and most importantly, learned what to do if they ever get into difficulty.

One key takeaway was practising how to float in a star shape and shout for help — an essential skill that could make all the difference in an emergency.

cheshireswim_17 will also be sharing a free water safety lesson for parents via email, so please keep an eye out for that if your child attends La Maternelle Nantwich.

Congratulations to Skye Thornton who has passed her Edexcel Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Children’s Learning and Development (EYE Educator) qualification! We are delighted to congratulate Sarah Keane on her 5-year anniversary with La Maternelle. Sarah joined our team in 2021 as a Practitioner and has since developed her skills and experience to become a Lead Practitioner in our Pre School.

We are delighted to congratulate Emily Wright on her 5-year anniversary with La Maternelle. Emily joined our team in 2021 as a Practitioner and has since developed her skills and experience to become a Room Manager in our Pre School.

Yesterday we had a surprise visit from the Easter Bunny who danced and sang songs with the children! The children delighted in meeting the Bunny and joining in with the singing and dancing. The Bunny dropped eggs everywhere! The children had lots of fun trying to find the them! 🐰🥚

This year we have taken part in the St Mary's Church Christmas Tree Festival, in aid of St Luke's Hospice. During the past week, the children have been making a variety of decorations to go on the tree we have sponsored at St Mary’s, Nantwich. This afternoon our Pre School children had a visit from some of the local Firefighters.

They talked to the children about their job role, the uniform they wear to keep them safe, the equipment they use and the different types of emergencies that they attend to.

The Fire Fighters then had a race to see which one would get into their specialist clothing the quickest! The winner managed to do it in 20 seconds!

They also showed the children around the Fire Engine and gave them the opportunity to sit inside it and also spray the water hose! 😃 🚒 💦
