⭐️ Call for entries! Nairn's Young Musician Competition ⭐️

You've got a week left to enter the Nairn Book and Arts Festival and Nairn Rotary “Young Musician Competition”, with the deadline set for Saturday 31 May. Open to local performers aged 8–18, the competition invites entries in any musical style - from classical and folk to jazz and contemporary.

Participants will compete in Junior and Senior categories, with a first round on Saturday 28 June and a live final on the Festival’s opening day, Saturday 30 August at Nairn Community & Arts Centre

Winners will receive a cash prize and a special invitation to perform at the Rotary Charity Concert in November. Music Nairn is kindly donating trophies for the two winners.

As anticipation builds, young musicians are urged to take centre stage and make the most of this unique chance to showcase their talent! 🎶 🎤 🎻 🎹 🎺 🪘🪉

Nairn Music Tuition is 10 years old this week! 10 years!!! All those years ago I had an admin job which I loved but it just wasn’t working well for our family. Having two boys to look after and a husband who worked away (a lot!) it was difficult to juggle school holidays etc. I decided to give teaching a go but it was a big risk and I wasn’t sure how it would work out. I had volunteered at the boys primary school for about 7/8 years doing music classes and playing at all their concerts/shows but teaching was going to be completely different! I started in October 2014 with two pupils and by the time Christmas came I had enough pupils to give up my job. I teach piano and theory and have had many, many pupils over the years ranging in ages from 5 - 70’s. I am very proud to have a 100% pass rate record for all the pupils I have entered over the years for ABRSM exams, the majority of results being Merits and Distinctions. At the moment I have 25 pupils and a healthy waiting list. Thank you to all family, friends and pupils past and present who have supported me over the years and continue to do so. Here’s to the next 10 years! 🎶🎹🎼

A massive congratulations to everyone who performed at our concert this afternoon! It was brilliant and a great success. It has been an absolute pleasure working with Gillian and Alex and I’m sure they would agree all our students played very well. Thank you to each and everyone of you for all your hard work and dedication preparing your pieces for today 🎹

It’s been a busy year at NMT, well done to everyone for all their hard work! 🤩 Huge congratulations to pupils who passed ABRSM exams both practical and theory. 🎼 Fantastic results as always with the majority being merit and distinction! 9 years of teaching and my 100% pass rate remains intact.🌟Looking forward to welcoming some new pupils in August, I still have a couple of spaces available on my waiting list so please get in touch if you are interested in lessons 🎹 Hope you all have a brilliant summer 🌞 Thank you all for your continued business and support. 🎶

Another great year at NMT! Fantastic results from pupils who sat ABRSM grades, practical and theory. All merits and distinctions, 100% pass rate intact! I am absolutely delighted with the beautiful gifts my very talented Mum has made for me to give to all my pupils.
