It’s been a little while since our last update as we were awaiting the new flooring being installed.
We are ecstatic to reveal this is now complete!

We have beautiful wood effect flooring and Kelp green safety flooring in the children’s new bathrooms 🤎💚

We hope the children will love it next week!

I have updated this poster as the July 2026 final DfE statutory guidance changed/clarified the position compared with some of the earlier information on which it was based.

The most significant issue is the section “Where Benedict’s Law formally applies.” Previously it stated that maintained schools include local-authority-maintained nursery schools fall directly within Benedict’s Law. That is incorrect under the final statutory guidance. The DfE expressly says the guidance applies to maintained schools “excluding local-authority-maintained nursery schools.”

The updated poster below is accurate as of today.

🌈The 2-4 year olds have been having fun during the school holidays and this week made some homemade paint using blackberries that they had foraged.

Louise showed them that adding cornflour and vinegar changes the colour of the paint and then allowed the children to experiment, look at their beautiful paintings 🩷❤️💜🖤

On 12 August, a partial solar eclipse will be visible across the UK. Ordinary sunglasses - no matter how dark - allow harmful solar radiation to reach the retina and should not be used to view an eclipse.

If you want to use eclipse glasses make sure they are genuine with specially designed filters that meet the international safety standard.
