This week our children have been celebrating kindness week and we have been spreading cheer within our community.We gifted a pamper hamper to our local hairdressers and today our pre school children visited wallyford care home and gifted the residents a rose each and then enjoyed some colouring together!We have also been showing each other acts of kindness within our setting.🥰❤️

At nursery We have been learning about “people who help us” in our local community- Today we had a very exciting visitor Andrew, an ambulance technician in the Scottish Ambulance Service. He brought along an ambulance for us to look around. We got to dress up in some hi vis vests and helmets and we got to treat a patient, peppa pig. We used a toy first aid kit and bandages on her. Andrew let us take turns in the special chair going up and down on the ramp. We got to ‘drive’ the ambulance and put the sirens on! We had a great time! 🚑🚨

This week, we are celebrating Acts of Kindness and the children took some flowers and chocolates the staff at the Library to say thankyou for their help when we visit
The staff in the nursery have also had treats !

We had a wonderful Development Day yesterday and were inspired by the amazing Alice Sharp. We discussed children's curiosity, connections, creativity etc.
We have come away with so much to think about and put in to action 🥰

Fire station visit🚒

Today we had the pleasure of visiting our local fire station to learn about people who help us!

We were very lucky to be given a tour of the fire truck, learning about all of the different equipment used to keep people safe.

The children tried on the fire fighting uniforms, held the hose and even had a seat inside the truck!

Thank you to the Musselburgh fire station staff for welcoming us and making this experience so special for our children! They loved it🚨

Staff from both settings who needed their emergency paediatric first aid at work and those who required an update on their previous course attend training by twist training. All staff took part in practical training along with lots of information on first aid. Lots of great learning for everyone, thanks to everyone who came along and to Jo who runs twist training who makes this course a wonderful learning experience. X

Musselburgh Private Nursery is recruiting for a qualified Nursery Practitioner (qualified to SVQ Level 3/HNC) to join our busy nursery. We are a welcoming nursery and are looking for a motivated team member who is caring and enthusiastic, with a passion for providing excellent childcare.
The role includes:
• Working as part of a team to ensure that the children are playing in a free-flow environment with focused activities.
• Ensuring that the room is set up to promote free-flow play and considers the age and stage of the child
• Carry out planning with observation and evaluation of the children’s learning
• Ensure that nursery policies are procedures are carried out
• Develop strong relationships with the parents/Carers ensuring there is good communication
• Ensure that the child’s day is recorded on the Nursery App (sleep, mealtimes and development)
• Giving nurture and ensuring all children are included
• Ensuring that you are keeping up to date with current legislation and good practice by reading and researching documents
