Fly-tipping is a crime that continues to impact Scotland’s countryside, leaving landowners and farmers to deal with damaged landscapes and costly clean-ups.

That’s why we’re supporting Fly-Tipping Fortnight 2026, a campaign led by Keep Britain Tidy to promote responsible waste disposal and encourage people to use licensed waste carriers.

Scottish Land & Estates has long campaigned for stronger action and tougher penalties to tackle fly-tipping and protect rural communities.

But tackling fuel poverty requires more than emergency funding. Investment in warmer, more energy-efficient rural homes is the long-term solution to reducing bills and improving resilience.

Ten years ago, fewer than 100 people gathered at The George Hotel for the very first Helping It Happen Awards. To see 500 people come together at the EICC a decade later is a powerful reflection of how far the campaign has grown and evolved.

What a great way to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Helping It Happen Awards. 💚

Thanks to your generosity we raised more than £6,000 for our chosen charities, RSABI and The Country Food Trust.

Each organisation will receive £3,000, helping them continue their vital work supporting those in need across Scotland and beyond.

The evening was a celebration of the inspirational stories that make Scotland's rural sector so special, and your support showed the incredible spirit that sits at the heart of our awards.

Together, the Helping It Happen Awards community has now raised nearly £20,000 for charitable causes over the last five years.
Thank you for making our milestone year one to remember. ✨

The River Dee Trust’s campaign has won the Conservation Category at the Helping It Happen Awards.

A huge thank you to Scottish Land & Estates, and to the landowners, funders, contractors, volunteers and communities helping us plant native trees at landscape scale, shade the river and support wildlife.

We won’t stop here. We’ll continue taking action to protect the River Dee and raising awareness of the effects of climate change on wild Atlantic salmon and all wildlife.
