🌍✈️ Homeward Bound! 🇰🇭❤️🇬🇧 ✈️🌍

After an unforgettable adventure, the Mullion School Cambodia Team is home! 🇰🇭➡️🇬🇧

Over the past weeks, our students have shown incredible resilience, kindness, determination and compassion. From building toilets 🚽, chicken coops 🐔 and water storage pots 🏺, to creating murals 🎨, teaching English 📚, supporting local communities 🤝 and experiencing the rich culture and history of Cambodia 🛕, they have embraced every opportunity with enthusiasm and maturity.

They have worked hard in challenging conditions ☀️💪, stepped well outside their comfort zones 🌱, made lifelong friendships ❤️ and created memories that will stay with them forever.

We could not be prouder of the way our students have represented Mullion School throughout the trip. They have been outstanding ambassadors for both our school and our community, demonstrating respect, teamwork and a genuine desire to make a positive difference wherever they went. ⭐👏

A huge thank you to our partner organisations, local communities, guides and hosts who have welcomed us so warmly during our time in Cambodia. 🇰🇭💛

Most importantly, thank you to all the parents, carers, friends and family members who have followed our journey and supported us every step of the way. 🙏❤️

As we head home, we bring back far more than souvenirs 🎒. We return with new perspectives 🌏, greater appreciation, stronger friendships 💕 and experiences that will shape us for years to come.

🌅🇰🇭 Our final night in Cambodia! 😢❤️
What an amazing experience this trip has been! Tonight we enjoyed a lovely meal in Phnom Penh 🍽️✨ and celebrated some fantastic achievements 🎉🏆.
Both our school and our partner school in the team were awarded Certificates of Achievement 📜👏. A huge honour and a wonderful way to finish our time here! 🌟
Now comes the next challenge… getting the framed certificates all the way back to the UK in one piece! 😬✈️📦🤞😂
Tomorrow we have a slightly later start ⏰😊, with a little time for some last-minute shopping 🛍️🎁 before heading to the airport ✈️🇬🇧.

🎉🌟 Congratulations to Our Amazing Flight 45 students! 🌟🎉

Today has been a day of celebration, pride, and achievement here at Mullion School as Flight 45 collected their GCSE results. 📚👏

We are incredibly proud of everything our students have accomplished. Their results reflect not only their academic achievements but also their resilience, determination, and hard work throughout their time at Mullion School. 💪✨

A huge thank you must also go to our dedicated staff, supportive families, and wider school community who have encouraged and guided our students every step of the way. ❤️

As our students move on to the next stage of their journey, whether that be sixth form, college, apprenticeships, employment, or further training, we know they have bright futures ahead of them. 🚀🎓

Today is about celebrating success in all its forms. Every student's journey is unique, and we are immensely proud of each and every one of them. 🌈⭐

🌏🇰🇭 Cambodia Trip Update - Another Amazing Day! 🇰🇭🌏
What a fantastic day! ❤️
This morning we split into two groups 👷‍♀️👷‍♂️. One team completed the toilet build in record time 🚽🎉, while another group got creative painting colourful murals on the school walls 🎨🖌️🌈. I was supervising the artwork, so I don’t yet have any photos of the finished toilet block 📸, but I’ll share those as soon as I can!
This afternoon gave the students some well-earned relaxation time 😎☀️, although several chose to spend their free time continuing to help around the school ❤️👏. The local children are so eager to learn English 📚✏️🇬🇧 that it’s impossible not to be inspired by their enthusiasm and energy 😊✨.
Tonight we were hoping to watch a performance of traditional Cambodian dances 💃🎶🇰🇭, although the weather 🌧️⛈️ may have other ideas! Fingers crossed 🤞.
We’re also celebrating Mikayla’s birthday today 🎂🥳🎉 with cake 🍰 and karaoke 🎤🎶! And a special mention to Harry, who turns 15 while we’re travelling home ✈️🎈. He’ll be in the unusual position of turning 15 in Cambodia 🇰🇭 and then briefly becoming 14 again while crossing time zones in the air! 😂🌍⏰
Another memorable day filled with hard work, community spirit, learning and plenty of smiles 😊❤️. We’re incredibly proud of what the students have achieved so far! 👏🙌

🇰🇭✨ Cambodia Trip Update ✨🇰🇭
This afternoon we had the absolute pleasure of teaching at a local school 🏫❤️. Our Mullion School students were phenomenal 🌟, throwing themselves into every activity and building fantastic connections with the children. Their enthusiasm, kindness and energy were wonderful to see, and they did an amazing job engaging everyone throughout the session 👏😊.
This evening, we were incredibly honoured to be joined by Mr Suon 🙏. Mr Suon shared his powerful life story with us, recounting how he was recruited as a child soldier at just 14 years old during the Khmer Rouge era. He spoke with remarkable honesty and courage, answering every question from our students, no matter how challenging 💬🤝.
Listening to his experiences was both moving and humbling ❤️. It gave us all a deeper understanding of Cambodia’s history and resilience, and left us reflecting on the strength of the human spirit 🌏🕊️.
A truly unforgettable day filled with learning, connection and perspective 🇰🇭✨❤️

🌏🇰🇭 Cambodia Trip Update! 🇰🇭🌏
A busy and memorable day for our Mullion School team! 💪🛠️
This morning, whilst digging the hole for the new toilet 🚽⛏️, some of the group decided to put their vlogging skills to the test 🎥😄. We can’t wait to share some behind-the-scenes footage of our adventures! 🤳✨
This afternoon, we’ll be heading to the local school 🏫❤️ to teach and spend time with the students 📚✏️. It’s always such a rewarding experience and a great opportunity to learn from each other 🌟🤝.
Later today, we have the privilege of meeting a gentleman who was recruited as a child soldier during the Khmer Rouge regime. We are honoured to hear his story and gain a deeper understanding of Cambodia’s history 🇰🇭🕊️. It promises to be a powerful and thought-provoking experience.

🇰🇭☀️ Cambodia Trip Update! ☀️🇰🇭
Our Mullion School team has settled back into camp life, this time at Beng Pea! 🏕️🌴
Last night brought a true tropical experience with an intense storm ⛈️🌧️⚡, complete with heavy rain, thunder and lightning! Today, however, the sun is shining brightly ☀️😎 and the humidity is definitely letting us know we’re in Cambodia! 🥵🌿
Over the past day, the students have been working incredibly hard 💪🧱, helping to make concrete tubing for toilets 🚽. Many homes in the area do not have access to toilet facilities, and tomorrow morning we will be installing a toilet for a newly married couple ❤️👰🤵, making a real difference to their daily lives.
As expected, our students have been absolutely fantastic ⭐👏. Their dedication, teamwork and positive attitude have impressed the camp leaders, who have praised their outstanding work ethic 🙌💙. We are so proud of everything they are achieving! 🌟
Tonight, the fun continues as we (the royal “we” 😄) head off for a football match with the local children ⚽🥅🇰🇭. We’re looking forward to an evening of sport, laughter and making new friends 😊🤝.

🇰🇭🐀 What an amazing and eye-opening morning for the Mullion School Cambodia team! 🐀🇰🇭
Today we visited the incredible Hero Rats! 🌟 These giant African pouched rats 🐀 originate from Africa but are specially trained in Cambodia to help save lives. ❤️
Following years of conflict, many areas of Cambodia are still affected by hidden landmines and unexploded mortars 💣⚠️. These remarkable rats use their incredible sense of smell 👃 to detect explosives quickly and safely, and are actually far more efficient than humans using metal detectors! 👏🐀
As if that wasn’t impressive enough, they are also trained to detect tuberculosis 🩺🔬, helping to improve healthcare and save even more lives around the world. 🌍❤️
A fascinating visit that showed us how intelligence, innovation, and some very special rats are making a huge difference every day! 🙌🐀✨
