Treetops Summer Club 2026: The First Two Fantastic Weeks!
The first two weeks of Treetops Summer Club 2026 have been packed with fun, adventure, learning, and plenty of smiles. The children have embraced every activity with enthusiasm, creating wonderful memories and making the most of the summer holidays.
Week One: Animal and Nature Week
Our first week was all about animals, wildlife, and exploring the great outdoors. The children enjoyed a variety of exciting nature-based activities that encouraged curiosity and appreciation for the environment around them.
We started the week with a nature walk, where the children became wildlife explorers, searching for signs of nature and discussing the different plants and animals they could spot. This was followed by bird spotting activities, with children keenly observing local birds and learning about the species that live in our area.
The children showed great creativity while making their own bird feeders, which were then used to help support our local wildlife. They loved filling the feeders and watching birds visit for a snack. Feeding the wildlife became a favourite activity, encouraging discussions about how we can care for the animals around us.
A highlight of the week was our trip to the Forest School area. The children enjoyed exploring the woodland environment, using natural materials to build impressive dens and shelters. Teamwork, problem-solving, and imagination were on full display as they worked together to create their woodland hideaways.
To finish the week, the children took part in a fun outdoor scavenger hunt, searching for hidden items and spotting different features in the environment. It was a fantastic way to end an exciting week of discovery and adventure.
Week Two: Sports and Healthy Living Week
Our second week focused on keeping active, staying healthy, and having fun through sport and exercise.
The week began with relaxing yoga sessions on the common, where the children learned simple poses, stretches, and breathing exercises while enjoying the fresh air and beautiful surroundings. These sessions helped promote wellbeing, balance, and mindfulness.
The children then put their energy to the test with running races on the school track. There was plenty of determination, encouragement, and healthy competition as everyone joined in and challenged themselves. It was wonderful to see the children celebrating each other's achievements and cheering on their friends.
Alongside physical activity, we explored healthy eating and the importance of making balanced food choices. The children participated in discussions about different foods and how they help our bodies stay strong and healthy.
A particular favourite activity was cooking delicious flapjacks. The children carefully followed instructions, measured ingredients, and created their own tasty treats. They were incredibly proud of their creations.
Looking Ahead
The first two weeks of Summer Club have been a huge success, filled with laughter, learning, creativity, and friendship.
From exploring wildlife and building dens to practising yoga and racing on the track, the children have shown enthusiasm and confidence in every activity. We are looking forward to even more exciting adventures as Summer Club 2026 continues. ππ³π¦πββοΈπββοΈπ«
