In 2025, Laurie reaches a significant milestone, marking 50 years of dedicated service in the care sector, helping the most vulnerable in our society to have a voice and also somewhere to call home. When Princess Marina Hospital closed its doors, Laurie was determined not to let the end of an era diminish her passion for caregiving. In 1998, alongside her husband Ray, Laurie embarked on a new venture, founding their own business with a mission to continue supporting those with additional needs. This decision was driven by a shared vision of providing high-quality, compassionate care that would uphold the dignity and respect of the individuals they served.
Opening Their Family Home…
Laurie and Ray took the bold step of opening up their home to assist others, creating a safe haven where adults with learning disabilities could receive the support and attention they deserved. This environment was not just a place of care, but a space where individuals could find a sense of belonging and empowerment. Laurie's unwavering dedication ensured that each person who came through their doors was treated with the utmost kindness and consideration.
In the face of numerous restraints and regulations imposed by the council on care providers, Laurie has remained steadfast. Despite these obstacles, she continues to advocate for adults with learning disabilities across Northampton. Her voice has become a beacon of hope, ensuring that their needs are addressed and their rights protected.
While most have left the care industry she is still here fighting to put others first!!!
