RIP to former pupil Rhonda Shannon from Newarthill now Wishaw who has died. She was from 1978 intake. Funeral possibly tomorrow Wednesday in St Thomas parish. Not sure though.

brill news. according to the exhibition in the cathedral this week two of olhs early rectors were female! ground breaking. i thought mrs sinclair was the first. and with disabled teachers Mr Lafferty (english) and Mr wire (art) in the 70s and 80s, no one can say olhs weren't equal opportunity. i think the Catholic ethos reflected that. i remember one time having no female PE teacher so we joined a class of boys for PE. One of the male PE teachers asked a boy from an underpriveleged background to demonstrate his skills in doing a forward roll. he had no gym shoes and his tee shirt was too small and his tee shirt and shorts weren't the right colours but no comment was made from the teacher about his appearance.
