Save the date for our upcoming HND photography exhibition starting on the 23rd of May. The event kicks off with a special private viewing from 6 pm to 8 pm . Following that, the exhibition will be accessible to the public daily, from 10 am to 4 pm, at Summerlee Heritage Museum .

The exhibition showcases each student's take on the theme 'Drift', offering a diverse range of photography genres. Immerse yourself in beautiful portraiture, including newborn/documentary and fine art, serene landscapes, fun and playful macro style imagery, and creative composites.

HAPPY MAIL DAY // What a nice surprise this morning when the Mail brought this letter from acknowledging our student success at the MPA Scottish Region Awards at the Scottish Parliament!!!

Our HNC group had a day off classes whilst our HND group were undertaking day 1 of exhibition install. Glad to see the HNCs are using the time well and getting inspiration for their shot next year!

Visitors of the day: New College Lanarkshire photography students enjoyed a visit to see by Margaret Mitchell. They thought it was an inspiring body of work. Great to meet you!

HND Photography Student Magdalena Krasowska was awarded winner of the Student category at this year's Scottish MPA Awards!!
Magdalena's Image of a wine glass and grapes wowed the judges who commented on the overall quality of all the student work in the competition but ultimately chose Magdalena as the overall winner.
Magdalena received a trophy and lab credit at Loxley Colour who had very generously sponsored the competition category.

Alongside her overall win Magdalena also picked up 2 Merit awards for her other images entered into the competition.

Massive congratulations Magdalena - everyone is so proud of you and all the hard work you've put in over the last 2 years of study with us!

The photography team had a fun day yesterday at St. Andrew's Hospice on the judging panel to select the shortlist images for this year's Lanarkshire Through the Lens competition.

Sharon was shortlisted in the recent Scottish Nature Photography Awards with her portfolio of images "Oceans, Rivers and Lochs" depicts some beautiful views around Scotland.

Katie’s images were shot as part of a photojournalism assignment of “Beautiful Scotland”.

MUSICFEST // HND students Kayleigh and Barry were invited to be photographers at the recent Bothwell MusicFest held as part of . They had a great time providing coverage of the bands, amusements and festival goers.

NQ // Our NQ students were happy to get to spend some time outdoors in the sunshine practicing camera techniques that we have been covering in the classroom.
