This week at Morpeth Explorers, our Acorns have been out exploring the local community, spotting shops, buses, dogs and even a tractor before enjoying a trip to the park and a well-earned biscuit! 🏡🌿

Meanwhile, our Saplings have been counting strawberries at the market, making blueberry jam and discovering what grows at the allotment 🍓🫐

These everyday adventures are so much more than just fun - they're opportunities to build confidence, develop new skills and learn about the world around us.

This week at Morpeth Explorers has been full of movement, creativity and meaningful conversations 😊☁️

We loved heading out to cheer on our friends at their sports day and even had a go at our very own running race! The children enjoyed joining in, encouraging one another and celebrating each other's achievements.

Our Saplings became little scientists and artists as they made their own cloud paint, mixing the ingredients together and exploring its soft, fluffy texture before using paint brushes to create beautiful cloud-inspired masterpieces by observing the sky above.

Meanwhile, our Acorns have been exploring emotions by looking in mirrors and drawing how they were feeling. Together, we talked about different emotions and encouraged each child to share how they were feeling that day, helping to build self-awareness, communication and emotional understanding.

From cheering on friends to expressing feelings and creating art inspired by nature, every day at Explorers is filled with opportunities to learn, grow and discover in meaningful ways 💚

This week at Morpeth Explorers, our Acorns and Saplings have been learning through movement, music and discovery 🌈🎶

Our Acorns headed into the Forest for a very special dance and movement session, where they enjoyed listening to music, expressing themselves through movement and exploring with colourful scarves, instruments and the parachute. It was wonderful to see their confidence, creativity and enthusiasm shine through - we certainly have some fantastic little dancers!

Meanwhile, our Saplings became budding scientists as they created their very own rain clouds. Together, we explored the water cycle and discovered what happens to create a beautiful rainbow in the sky, encouraging curiosity, observation and plenty of thoughtful questions along the way.

From dancing under the trees to exploring the wonders of weather, every day brings new opportunities to learn through play at Explorers 😊

This week the Morpeth Saplings have been transforming into their favourite superheroes. We chose a stick, wrapped it in sellotape, and explored our environment to find leaves, flowers and feathers to attach. Each addition made our Power Wands grow stronger and stronger… so did our imaginations.

We’re offering a limited number of Apprentice Trial places at Stobhillgate, Morpeth, Wylam and Stocksfield Explorers for individuals who are passionate about early years and want to begin or continue their journey into childcare. This trial gives candidates the chance to spend time in our setting, meet the team, and show us their potential. Successful applicants may be offered a Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years Apprenticeship, depending on experience, readiness and performance during the trial.

At Explorers, we believe in nurturing curiosity, celebrating individuality and learning through nature. Our Forest School ethos means children and staff spend lots of time outdoors, exploring, creating and connecting.

What we’re looking for

• A genuine interest in working with young children
• Confidence to join an active workforce
• Warmth, enthusiasm and a willingness to learn
• Reliability, good communication and a positive attitude
• An interest in outdoor learning and nature‑rich environments

What the Apprentice Trial involves

• Spending time in the nursery supporting play and routines
• Observing and engaging in high‑quality interactions
• Demonstrating curiosity, initiative and professionalism
• Showing us your potential to grow within the Explorers team

What we offer
