ALUMNI FEAST FUN! Wow! What a gorgeous evening welcoming back explorers that have left the Nature Box to go to school. Everyone brought a plate of food, and we dined together on site, talked about life and remembered all the fun we have had together! There’s something so special about being able to still be part of these explorers lives, from hearing about what they are facing in school life, to them wanting to share with us their school reports, we really feel we are on their journey with them. And what a privilege that is too. Once a Nature Box Explorer, Always a Nature Box Explorer. When we say we are their cheerleaders, we really mean it, and will always be here to cheer them on, wave as they walk past to school, and lend an ear when times get tough. Thank you to all the families who joined us last night. Should we do another one?

We just love these sunny summer mornings here at Nature Box! Calm, warm, and wholesome. Our nursery explorers were already busy by 8.30am! From painting, reading books and weaving, to swinging in hammocks and making mud pies, it’s so good to catch the morning early!

We have had a very busy few days here at Nature Box…busy making memories. Celebrating our explorers who will be leaving us to go to school through our graduation, and our annual beach trip to Cleethorpes where we get to spend quality time with our families. What a treat it is to be part of these moments in our explorers journeys. Forever thankful for having the best job in the world.

CALLING ALL ALUMNI EXPLORERS!!!

Be that NURSERY, HOME ED, or AP! We would like to open the doors to Forest school on:

Friday 14th August 2026 at 5.30-7.30pm. Wood Lane Countryside Centre, Wood Lane, S6 5HE.

We would like to do a reunion feast, where everyone brings a plate of food that we share together, remember the fun times at Forest school, and catch up with how life is going.

It’s important to us here at Nature Box, that every explorer who we have cared for, knows we are still here, still thinking about them, and still cheering them on through their life journey.

We have done plenty of reunion walks in the woods but have never done it where explorers can come back into site, and practice the skills they learnt, and see the place they once spent lots of time!

Busy hands and feet mean lots of fun and learning is taking place! to hear the lovely learning and laughter that our explorers create when on their adventures in the woods. It’s so important that our explorers get this time out in the freedom of the forest, managing the terrain, managing risk, challenging their bodies, and filling their cup with confidence and self esteem!

STAFF TRAINING DAYS! It’s so important to us at Nature Box that our team gets days together in the year to really refresh their memories around our ethos, culture, values, and spend time in nature. Being able to share nature as team not only brings us together, but also brings us back to why we do what we do, and reminds us how we feel when we are in this environment. It instills why we have children come to us each week and why we immerse them in natures healing, and also why it works! Our AP team had a fab day out in Castleton last week, reflecting on how they connect with our young people, how they connect with each other, and the world around them. Teamwork makes the dream work!
