Nunnykirk Centre for Dyslexia Nunnykirk School is a school for young people with specific learning difficulties such as dyslexia. ASD, ADHD, SEMH and other SEN.

Nunnykirk School is a non-maintained special school approved by the Department for Education for pupils with specific learning difficulties such as dyslexia. For almost 40 years (established in 1977) we have provided for the educational and social needs of boys and girls of average or above average intelligence who experience specific learning difficulties including dyslexia. We admit pupils betwe

en the ages of 9 and 18 years on a day-only or a weekly boarding basis (Monday-Thursday). We now have both boys and girls boarding - in separate dormitories, naturally! Pupils come from both the local area and further afield including Scotland, Yorkshire, Cumbria and the Midlands - the school being the only one of its kind between Glasgow and Birmingham. We offer a wide ranging curriculum which caters specifically for children with dyslexia using teaching methods which have proved very successful particularly in key subjects such as Literacy and Maths. The school has also grown an excellent reputation for the quality of its creative arts achievements, in particular photography, which a number of former pupils have pursued as successful careers.
