🐞 Welcome Back to Ladybirds 🐞

This week we welcome back all of our term time children, as well as welcoming new children joining the Ladybirds family ❤️.

Our focus this week is ‘Our Families’ celebrating the special people in our lives and talking about what makes each of our families unique and special.

We will be bringing our learning to life through lots of role play, giving the children opportunities to explore familiar experiences and develop their imaginations.

Our colour monsters will be on hand to help us look at those big feelings and support us in understanding the different emotions.

✨ Welcome Back to Fireflies! 🐝 ✨

This week we are excited to welcome back all of our term-time children, as well as saying a big welcome to our new children joining the Fireflies family 💛.

A huge good luck to all of our school leavers as you begin your exciting journey into primary school.

This week at Fireflies, we will be focusing on ‘ourselves’ and celebrating what makes each and every one of us unique 🌟

We’ll also be welcoming the changing season and exploring all the wonderful things autumn brings and our colour monsters will be close by to support us in recognizing our emotions.

⭐️ We are moving into week four of the summer holidays, nursery is quieter as we offer all year round and term time only bookings but we use these quieter times to reflect, support transitions and plan for our new children joining.

We have stay and play sessions coming up so we look forward to seeing you all there.

Today, our Fireflies went on two group visits.

One group visited our local care home, where they had a wonderful time sharing their love of music with the residents. 🎶❤️ It was lovely to see everyone enjoying the music together!

Our second group headed to the park for a fun colour hunt! 🌈🔎 Along the way, they explored numbers and quantities before getting creative 🎨✨

Today our Fireflies had a wonderful adventure at Churwell Urban Woodland! 🌿🦉

The children loved exploring the woodland, searching for birds, insects and other wildlife along the way. They enjoyed den building, pond dipping to discover what lives beneath the water, before getting creative by making their own owls and having story time!

🐅 Today our Fireflies and some of our Ladybirds children marked International Tiger Day by learning all about these amazing big cats and their habitats.

The children enjoyed talking about tigers, creating their own tiger ears and setting off on an adventure for a tiger picnic and story time.

The weeks are passing by so quick we have so many on our list for college and university clothes and shoes and bags 🥺 we need a massive boost in age 16+ clothing male and female 🤞 we want these young ones to start their next chapter in life on an even chance with others 🤞 we can’t add any more onto our list as we would have to let them down before we give them hope 😢 please tag your young people who don’t have to worry they have nothing to wear ❤️ maybe they have things they don’t wear 🤞

🌟 Ladybirds Update 🌟

Over the last couple of weeks it has been lovely observing our Ladybirds become so engaged in their role play. By following their interests they have enjoyed taking on a variety of roles, from doctors and patients to hairdressers and their clients.

Through their imaginative play the children have been working together, sharing ideas and developing their communication and language skills.
Role play provides so many valuable learning opportunities including teamwork, problem-solving, creativity, confidence and language development and our Ladybirds have demonstrated all of these plus so much more.

The children have also loved exploring our core book ‘The Three Little Pigs’ extending the story through a range of creative art activities. It has been fantastic to see their imaginations come to life as they retell and recreate the story in their own unique ways. 🐷🎨

⭐️ Fireflies Graduation 2026 ⭐️

Thank you to all the families who joined us this morning to celebrate the nursery journey of our Fireflies! A new and exciting adventure awaits as they leave nursery to start school.

A huge thank you to our amazing Educators who make all this possible and provide our nursery children with the life skills they need ready for the next chapter!
