We are a school that likes to celebrate success – at every level. The life of the school is driven by enthusiasm and a desire to achieve.

We aim to bring learning alive, making it exciting and stimulating. We want to give our children a thirst for learning that continues with them throughout their future school experiences and lives. An essential ingredient for this to happen is teamwork. We view education as a joint venture involving everyone- children, parents, staff, governors and the wider community. We hope that we will be able

Perhaps you can help-they say it takes a community to raise a child. If your children, perhaps older siblings, smell of woodsmoke after being out, ask lots of questions. Or if you see something suspicious, be aware of the dangers and contact the police.

We have evidence of quite a large fire being started in the Great Wood woodland area recently. School premises is private. As a community, we may be able to prevent dangers like this by communicating instead of having to build high expensive fences. We leave the felled wood to encourage wildlife in this nature reserve.

Please don’t discuss this with children putting the idea into their heads.

Why not help find the eye protectors that were given at school to prepare for the eclipse tomorrow.

🌿 Exciting Things Are Growing at Great Wood Primary School🌿

Over this summer break, our incredible staff and volunteers have been working hard to secure funding and bring exciting new outdoor learning opportunities to life for our children.

Thanks to funding secured from a variety of generous sources, we've also been able to purchase a fantastic range of new enrichment equipment ready for the start of the new term. These exciting resources will further enhance our EYFS outdoor provision, giving our youngest learners even more opportunities to explore, investigate, create and learn through play in a rich and inspiring environment. We can’t wait to share more about these in the new term.

As part of the Our Future Coasts project, we're creating a space that will also enrich pupils’ learning across the whole school for years to come and we couldn't wait to share a sneak peek! 📸 The polytunnel is starting to take shape, and we can't wait to see it completed and filled with opportunities for exploration, discovery and hands-on learning.

A huge thank you to everyone who has given their time, energy and support to help make this vision a reality. We're so proud of what has been achieved already, and this is just the beginning!

Watch this space for more updates as we continue to grow something truly special for our school community. 🌱💚
