Nicola's Childminding

The children really enjoyed our day trip to Leighton Moss, we spent the morning pond dipping and trying to identify all the insects we found. We were joined for lunch by a family of ducks and when exploring later, we met a family of swans.

Happy mount park is one of our favourite parks, there's so much to do there. Last week we gave the Crazy Golf a try.

At the beginning of the summer holidays we were invited to join Penny's Childminding for the long awaited release of the butterflies that the children had been learning about and had watched grow and develop through their life cycle.

It's been a fun and busy summer so far. We have enjoyed the sunshine with multiple trips to the beach, water fountains, and various play parks over the weeks.

The children all enjoyed our camping experience today, we spent the day at Fell Foot with our friends at Penny's Childminding.
We pitched a tent and the children got to cool off and play in the water before doing some paddleboarding! After lunch and a rest in our tents, it was time to pack away. We even had some energy left for the play park.

Our morning creating transient art on the beach. The children enjoyed exploring the different colours and textures of seaweed, shells, sand, and painting on stones. We also investigated some pools where we found some crabs and periwinkle.

Last week we found something new on our local beach! Some people had built a giant nest from natural materials for us to investigate. We added a few of our favourite shells for the next people to find.

I have 3 day spaces available for age 3m+. Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday.
Friday space is term time only, other days can be all year or term time only.

Last week we were able to witness a lifeboat being called to some tourists walking out on the sand as the tide was coming in. The children were interested in the hovercraft and it was a great prompt for a beach safety talk!

The past 2 Saturdays I've been doing some beach school training. We've got this beautiful resource practically on the doorstep and now I have lots of ideas for the children and I to enjoy and explore this space all year round.
