Churchstoke Little Explorers Playgroup Pre-school childcare offering 3+ education and additional 20hrs childcare offer. Places available from the age of 2. Welcome! Croeso! Who are we? What do we offer?

Churchstoke Little Explorers Playgroup is a community based playgroup who provide fully supervised sessions for children from the age of 2 years old. All staff are level 3 qualified and fully trained. Our setting complies with all local and national government regulations for the provision of care and early learning. Churchstoke Little Explorers offers a variety of stimulating activities and areas

to encourage and promote freedom of choice, decision making and problem solving.

1) Welsh Assembly Government funding supports three-year-olds foundation phase for education.

2) Access and the opportunity to explore the outdoors.

3) A healthy choice of morning snack and drink.

4) Cooked lunch option at the school or own packed lunch

Mondays 9:00am* until 3:00pm**
Tuesdays 9:00am* until 5:30pm
Wednesda 9:00am* until 3:00pm**
Thursday 9:00am* until 5:30pm
Friday 9:00am* until 3:00pm**

* Early mornings from 8am available on request
** Late finish available on request

Powys term time. We offer the 10 hours for the 3+ funding from 9am until 11:00am each day and the childcare offer (additional 20 hours of childcare for eligible parents). Today marks the beginning of well-being week, we have used this opportunity to introduce a well-being basket for our families to help themselves, as a little gesture of positivity and to remind them of what a great job they are doing.

Do you need to apply for a place in Reception at Primary School in September 2026?

If so, the Primary School Admission Round for learners born between 01/09/2021 – 31/08/2022 opens today, Wednesday 1 October 2025.

Parents/Carers need to complete an online application at https://en.powys.gov.uk/article/1158/Applying-for-a-School-Place

Applications need to be made by the deadline of Thursday 15 January 2026.

Primary Common Offer Date is Thursday 16 April 2026.
