***WOODLAND IMPS PLAYGROUP APPLICATIONS FOR SEPTEMBER***

Our enrolment list for September 2022 is now well under way. If you or someone you know would like an application form, please contact us on messenger with your email and/or home address, or pop us an email to [email protected] and let us know if you would prefer an electronic or paper copy of the forms. We are happy to answer any additional questions you may have.

We are based in the heart of Mynydd Isa, located in the community centre and we are able to accommodate children from 2 to 4 years of age. We offer 10, 2.5hr playgroup sessions and also wrap around care from 8am to 5.30pm every day (8am -4.30pm Fridays), as well as a walking bus to and from Ysgol Mynydd Isa nursery.
We are Estyn and CIW approved and supply the 10hr Early Entitlement from January every year and we also accept the 30hr free childcare offer.

Between our 4 current staff members and Chairperson, we have approximately 23 years experience working exclusively at Woodland Imps. Our current Manager has held the position for just over 3years following a previous 6 1/2 years with the setting. We have staff members who are trained to work alongside children with additional needs, and who have experience of working with children on a 1:1 basis.
Both our Manager and Assistant Supervisor sent their own children to Woodland Imps, and the families of both our Chairperson and Manager have used the setting throughout the last 42 years.

Good morning everyone!
Yesterday we had a spot check by a lady from CIW (Care Inspectorate Wales). It should have taken place within 6 months of our re-registration, but due to limitations caused by Covid procedures they had to wait until now. It was such a boost to us all to hear what an amazing job we're doing here at Woodland Imps! She saw us in session during the morning (including the walking bus), throughout lunch and then for part of the afternoon session. She loved how happy all the children were in our care, and we've just got to keep on doing what we're doing. In addition, she was also more than happy with the Covid procedures that we have in place here at playgroup.
We all love doing this job, even through the challenging times we've had, but it's always great to have that extra bit of reassurance from the official bodies to illustrate to us, parents and the community, that what we are doing here works and that we are doing it well. Well done and thank you to everyone involved with the playgroup xx

Myself and auntie Caroline have been busy making the playgroup more calming for are reopening on Monday 6th after the summer holidays. We have new furniture and even have a comfy futon for our children to sit and read books or just have some relax time. We look forward to seeing the children from Monday.

Good morning everybody! During the three weeks which we opened prior to the summer break, our Chairperson was contacted by CIW (Care Inspectorate Wales) to check on the procedures we had put in to place. They were very happy with what we were doing in order to keep both children and staff safe, and gave their approval that IF there were to be a second wave, we would be able to continue to operate as a hub for 2-4 year old children of key workers. Well done to our staff for all of their hard work over this period.
